Leonardo DiCaprio Drops Out of Steve Jobs Biopic, May Take a Break From Acting

Leonardo DiCaprio Drops Out of Steve Jobs Biopic, May Take a Break From ActingSubmit Comment
We've already seen Ashton Kutcher's Steve Jobs biopic, but Sony Pictures is still pushing forward with its own version, which is written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and is based on the best-selling book by Walter Isaacson.

The studio has been aiming to attach top talent to the project. On top of having Sorkin as a writer, Sony was able to get Oscar-winning helmer Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) to direct. And until just recently, Leonardo DiCaprio was attached to play the Apple co-founder.

But now comes word that DiCaprio has dropped out. According to THR, the actor plans to finish his "The Revenant" film and then take a break from acting. This leaves Sony in a tough spot, but the studio is already reaching out to Matt Damon, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck to replace DiCaprio.

Sorkin previously said that the new movie will consist of only three scenes. "That all take place in real time," he explained. "There will be no time cuts and each will take place before a product launch. Backstage before a product launch. The first one being the Mac, the second one being NeXT, after he had left Apple. And the third one being the iPod."

Less DiCap is good for all. Not like he does much outside Scorsese.

Really, even Jesus Christ has fewer movies to his name than Steve f*cking Jobs. Guess that's what you get when you invent a secular religion for useless, mindless narcissists.

Bah.

Yeah there's another Academy Award for the great Sorkin, "writing" yet another adaptation of someone elses work (like the 4th of 5th time). And screw that whiny Newsroom show.

I actually thought the Ashton Kutcher one nailed it, we don't need another film

Leonardo DiCaprio Drops Out of Steve Jobs Biopic, May Take a Break From Acting ... and yet, much like Dark17's mum whoring herself in the streets, Mark Wahlberg never gets the hint.

Minkowski, you must run this site.

There is no way a person could be bothered posting the first three or four inane comments on every thread on this site every day.

"Useless, mindless narcissists." Where does Minkowski sign up?
