Today we have the trailer for the upcoming "A Most Violent Year," which comes from writer/director JC Chandor (Margin Call, All is Lost) and stars Jessica Chastain, Oscar Isaac and Albert Brooks. Check it out below.
Plot: Set during the winter of 1981 -- statistically one of the most crime-ridden of New York City's history -- the film follows the lives of an immigrant and his family as they attempt to capitalize on the American Dream, while the rampant violence, decay, and corruption of the day drag them in and threaten to destroy all they have built.
The new movie is set to hit theaters on December 31st.

Sounds impressively boring and dour.

Margin Call was a bore, btw. Not really sure why anyone would ever think a movie about the financial world would do anyone any good. Didn't even have a proper villain like Wall Street. Whatever.
Maybe they can make a movie about the high-stakes world of toilet paper manufacturing....

How in the hell can someone make a film without a plot?
"Central story? Oh hell, that crap's not important. Where do we stand with our monkey prequel? We've got to strike while the iron is hot to capitalize on the red hot monkey prequel trend that's gone international. We should probably also cast some children to fight to the death in our monkey prequel like those Hungry movies starring Chubby Sugartits. The public loves to watch kids fighting to the death. If we can include some of that box office money in our monkey prequel we may be looking at Avatar territory. I'll have to reinforce the walls of my money bin."
