Karl Urban Says "Dredd" Prequel May Happen

Karl Urban Says "Dredd" Prequel May HappenSubmit Comment
"Judge Dread" remake, called "Dredd," was released in 2012, grossing only $35 million worldwide on a budget of $50 million. That means that when you combine the production budget with the marketing budget, the film turned out to be a major flop.

A studio would have to be insane to want to make a sequel, but yet writer Alex Garland and actor Karl Urban keep pushing for one. In fact, during the Chicago Comic-Con recently, Urban revealed that talks have now switched to making a prequel.

"There is a definite possibility, but it's more likely that we'll do the origins story, with Dredd trekking through the Cursed Earth to find the first Chief Judge Fargo," he said.

That would be really nice, but I think Karl Urban is full of sh*t.

Yeah, pretty sure a few of us can do basic arithmetic, Alex.

Then they should f*cking pay for it. Garland and Star Trek mop-head need to get on Kickstarter or Crowdfund or whatever and see how much money they can make.

Businesses have to make a profit, *ssholes, they don't get by on good looks and charity.

Get off your asses and go make generate money to aid the funding if you want to make another box office bomb that damned bad.

I think using the Cursed Earth is a good way to intro the audience into the weirder parts of the Dredd universe.

The article title is misleading; "Origins" is a sequel rather than a prequel.

As far as I know Urban is travelliing to England to discuss financing and potential investors.

First one was great. Would love another, especially an origins in Cursed Earth! Make it happen!

I don't mind seeing a sequel or prequel to this ... and by the f*cking way .... when the f*ck would this be considered insane in a time when Marvel keeps not only adding sequels to SpiderHam, but also f*cking it up ? I think someone at Movieweb is on Marvel's motherf*cking payroll.

May Rob Schneider get meningitis and die.

May Rob Schneider ACCIDENTALLY pull a Robin Williams, then get transported to a hospital like JOAN RIVERS and have his life support pulled by MELISSA RIVERS.
