Dax Shepard to Write, Direct and Star in "CHiPs" Movie

Dax Shepard to Write, Direct and Star in "CHiPs" MovieSubmit Comment
Back in 2006, it was reported that Chris Evans and Wilmer Valderrama were set to star in a big screen adaptation o the "CHiPs" TV series. The plan was to have the film in theaters in 2007, but that obviously never happened.

Now comes word that Warner Bros hired Dax Shepard to write, direct and star in the movie, which will center on two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers. Michael Pena will co-star.

Shepard is on board to play Jon Baker, the by-the-book officer played by Larry Wilcox in the TV show. Pena will play Frank Poncherello, Baker's wild partner, who was played by Erik Estrada in the show.

Michael Pena is a good choice for Ponch.

CHiPS? LMAO! Can they not smell bomb a billion light years ways? Dax Shepherd. No one gives a f*ck about this guy. He's not funny, almost no one one knows him, and CHiPS is four decades old, almost. Like anyone under the age of 30 has ever even heard of the show, which was never much of a hit during it's original run anyway.

Now, here's an idea. Get the writers of the first 21 Jump Street, hire Taters and some goofy sidekick, and go from there. Call it something other than CHiPS while you're at it. Like California Motorcycle Cops or something, which would be better than f*cking CHiPS.

Jesus Christ almighty, is there a contest in Hollywood to see who can make the worst sh*t imaginable? A game of deprecation among rich liberal Jews?

SMDH.

Wow hollywood, scraping the bottom of the barrel, are we? I wonder, can Nightrider and Bay Watch be far behind?

The article is incomplete as this version of CHiPS is said to be serious. As in “not a comedy.”

Which could be good.

I'm sorry but this guy is such a f*cking smartass douche bag.

Even his face gets on my nerves.

I liked the other movie he wrote, directed and starred in with his wife. Called Hit and Run, i believe its currently on netflix. Also co stars tom arnold which normally would be a knock yes, but he actually does a pretty good job dramaticly and comedy wise.

Also, im a fan of Pena. This could be pretty good. As long as we get the modern day version of dax and not PUNKD era version that is

What I really want to know is who's nephew this goofy f*cker is? That's the only explanation for this whole damn article which sounds like a bad joke.

I keep going back to this idea of these sh*tty films being made. It's like Warner Bros. literally just said, "Here. Take this $50 million out to the parking lot and light it on fire. We're going to film that and release it. Call it CHIPS. It's going to be great. We'll get Dax Shepard to direct it. He's banging that chick that cries over sloths on Ellen. Yeah. It'll be huge."

Why the hell would a huge studio just throw away money like this? No different than burning piles of cash in the parking lot. There has to be some reason. Like this goofy bastard is the right jew's nephew so he gets money dumped on his head as if he really had some sort of talent.
