"Harry Potter" Director David Yates to Return For "Fantastic Beasts" Spin-OffSubmit Comment
David Yates, who directed several "Harry Potter" movies, including the last two, has agreed to return for the first installment in the "Harry Potter" spin-off, called "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

The new movie is based on the Hogwarts textbook and follows the adventures of its author, Newt Scamander. The story is set in New York roughly seven decades before Harry Potter's story begins. "Harry Potter" author JK Rowling is writing the script.

"Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the 'Harry Potter' series, but an extension of the wizarding world," explained Rowling.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will hit theaters on November 18th, 2016. It will be the first installments in a trilogy.

Woooooooooo, more bland, repetitive directing from Yates. Alfonso Cuaron's directing style was blatantly too 'out there' to sign him on again, so they went with someone who could deliver the same film over and over again.

A Harry Potter film without Daniel Radcliffe is something I can actually fully support and get behind. Since it's New York in the olden days I wanna see some fat birds with STDs, giving a whole new meaning to "Hog warts".

I bet what's his name is waiting by the dusty phone hoping for a call to appear in a cameo of some kind. Sure. And Mr. T was waiting patiently for a little role in The A-Team movie, too. See what he got? Nothing. And he liked it.

Seriously though, who the f*ck wants to watch a Harry Potter movie without Harry Potter?
