Alfred Molina Wants to Return as Spider-Man Villain Doctor Octopus in "Sinister Six"Submit Comment
We already know that Doctor Octopus will appear in the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man" spin-off, "Sinister Six." In a new interview, Alfred Molina, who played the villain in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man 2," revealed that he would love to reprise the role.

"That was the most fun I think I've ever had on a movie of that kind, those big features where you spend six months hanging off a wire," he said. "But it was the first movie of that kind that I've ever been involved in. I had a wonderful time. I loved it. I'd go back and do it again in a heartbeat."

But Molina understands that he'll likely not be considered since this is a completely different take. "No actor owns those roles," he added.

"Sinister Six" is set to hit theaters on November 11th, 2016.

Dude's a wee bit too old, although he did define that role as well as anyone could. Might also add that at some point Sony is going to have to stop purloining from Raimi and stand on their own with a direction that doesn't beg borrow or steal from the first two Spiderman movies. Even DC has moved on from Nolan and he essentially redefined comic book movies.

He's a good actor but a bit too old to portray Dr.Ock

The only actor they should get from the old trilogy is J.K. Simmons.

i think alfred molina nailed the role, he gives himself less credit than he deserves and my reason for thinking that is well, in raimi's films, before spiderman 3, everybody seemed to be really interested and open minded...@ blumpkin4, i didn't like venom much in the film...almost everything from the cartoon seemed to fly off the pages till i saw venom...the first resident evil film's monster 'the licker' had more of a venom feel when it whips that slimy ass tongue around...i guess sony wanted venom to have cotton mouth instead but i really wished they had a more muscular actor for the part and no silly jazz sequences...the new films make peter look like justin bieber

He's more fitting now to play the Blob from the X-Men than he is for Doc Ock.

Sony not stealing? That's like asking a Japanese man not to buy soiled panties from the vending machine and giving them a sniff.
