"Texas Chainsaw Massacre" Prequel Gets a Title

"Texas Chainsaw Massacre" Prequel Gets a TitleSubmit Comment
We've been hearing that the upcoming "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" film will be a prequel and will focus on a younger Leatherface. Now comes word that that's all true, adding a few more bits of information.

The new movie will be called "Leatherface," same as the third installment in the horror franchise. It will take place in the 1970s and will explore the origins of the horror icon.

Newcomer Seth M. Sherwood is on board to write the script for Millennium Films. Producers are currently searching for a director with plans of starting production this winter.

Why! Why explore his origins, they've done that in the reboots already! And the 3D movie was wank!

It doesn't make f*ckin' sense ... Texas Chainsaw: The Beginning was the Prequel ... unless they wanna pull a Hannibal Rising and f*cking up another f*cking franchise.

Hollywood is pitifully pathetic. I used to work with someone that was family friends with the original Leatherface guy. The original film was apparently made by grad students with no money. They got the original guy to be Leatherface in their little project because apparently he was the tallest guy they knew. He's like 6'5". He's been able to make a living off of doing these horror convention appearances ever since which he hates doing. But, and this is the best part, he does them so he has more time to work on his poetry. The original Leatherface is some soft spoken poetry writing giant.

So a few grad students make a movie with no budget and it becomes some kind of cult classic that still scares the sh*t out of kids with it's doc*mentary feel. Hollywood rapes it to death through the years and still can't match the originality of a few broke ass film students. Not even with all of their over inflated mega budgets with all the fancy special effects that come with that.

I guess the point to that rant is....where in the hell are today's film school reject grad students? Can't somebody find the modern day equivalent of these guys, grab them, and say "you hippies want to make a movie?" I bet it would be better and more original than 90% of the crap being churned out of Hollywood today. I mean, I sat through Expendables 3 and I'll never get those 2 hours of my life back. I watched the Lone Ranger and sat completely baffled at how some one could f*ck up a Lone Ranger movie that bad. It's the classic western story line that's as old as the term western. Bad guys do bad sh*t. Good guy shows up. Cue William Tell Overture. Good guy saves the day. "Who was that masked man?" The End. Thank you. It's as if honest to god brain damaged retarded people are running movie studios and everyone seems to have gotten okay with that.

How do we hold these studio jerk offs to higher standards?
