Why "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" Changed Its Release Date

Why "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" Changed Its Release DateSubmit Comment
After a bizarre sequence of events, Warner Bros' "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and Marvel's "Captain America 3" ended up with the same release date, May 6th, 2016.

Both companies refused to budge for months, but Warner Bros eventually decided to move "Batman v Superman" to March 25th, 2016. Now, Warner Bros' Dan Fellman explained the reasons behind the decision.

"[After] going back and reviewing the situation, it looked to us -- and maybe our reconnaissance wasn't great -- that they were not going to have a movie [ready] on that date. Just that they held onto it and they might not be able to deliver. But they took another position."

He continued: "We'll be the first one up [in 2016], which is very important, and we'll have six weeks before 'Captain America' comes in."

DC = p*ssy. They just admitted that they lost in staring contest with Marvel.

...because it'll get its ass kicked by Captain America 3, that's why. Do we even need an article on this? The real question is why it went for a spring release date instead of a mid-summer one.

Translation: no way our sh*tty hacked together mess of a film, with its lousy casting, could stand up to Captain America even though people have waited decades to see Superman and Batman together in a film, but hey, we hired the guy who made 300 instead of the guy who did Batman Begins because we suck and have 80 points of room temperature IQ among us. Did I mention the terrible casing and director?

Translation: we'll have six weeks, two of which we will use, to warm up the room and terrorize critics until a real film appears and gets the party going, because DC really stands for Dumbass c*nts.

Its a smart move, only 3 comments of hate so far, is this site slowing down?

It should have a great box office run until CAP opens in May. The summer start date keeps getting moved up earlier and earlier every year, and BAT/SUP is essentially a summer film.

Batsup. It's what Aquaman puts on his hotdog.

By the way, this was news three days ago when I posted it, although I can barely remember doing so...

March? That's not really a summer movie. In fact, its usually when studios release movies they don't know what to do with, because there's little/no competition.
Cannon writes:

Well, I doubt it will "John Carter" but the last two Snyder films released in March were Watchmen and Sucker Punch. And look how well they worked out.

The only thing that is really going to sell here is the "concept" of the film, unless Snyder seriously changes his game and directs what might actually look like an entertaining comic book movie ...ya know, the opposite of Man of Steel.

It's not like audiences walked out of that film high on fun like they did with Avengers, Winter Soldier or Guardians. Rather, most little kids we're rubbing their tired eyes and asking, "Mommy, why was the movie sad?"

@ Cannon. 300 too. Sin City was April 1st, so close.
minkowski writes:

Neither 300 nor Man of Steel were meant for actual children; they were meant for adults who act and think like children. Big f*cking difference. Man of Steel had the PG13 rating merely to cash in on the 13-18 demo that possesses large amounts of their parents' discretionary funds.

Start with a sh*tty premise, end with a sh*tty conclusion. GIGO.

It's almost a tragedy how bad DC is making their films here. I feel there will be a doc*mentary years later about the blip note that was the DCU.
