Arnold Schwarzenegger's "The Legend of Conan" May Begin Filming Early 2015

We've been hearing that Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to return for "The Legend of Conan." And now, producer Fredrik Malmberg has revealed that filming may begin early next year.

"We want to polish up the script, specifically about the characters, but we don't think it will take long," he said. "We'll probably have this turned in around September and then we'll take it to the studio and if they're happy, we can hopefully start in the Spring."

Malmberg was then asked if any directors have been approached. "We haven't been talking with directors yet. A lot of directors have come fourth and expressed interest and that they like 'Conan' and want to be involved when we're at that stage but the studio said they want the script to be ready before we officially approach the directors. But we have been in touch with old great names and new fresh faces. We're excited about finding the right guy for that."

Another box office bomb, like everything he's done as of recent, outside a few shots in Expendables.

Really, Arnie, give it up. You wasted your time in politics, a dead-end career since you cannot become President, so stop trying to pretend its 2003 again. You're old. Most people don't care about you anymore. Try directing. Try doing more dramatic role. Do an Eastwood you f*cking Austrian idiot. Stop trying to pretend you're thirty years old again. You're not action star and no one outside a few losers want to see you in that capacity.

Seriously, Who the f*ck has the desire to see a 67-year old Arnold shirtless in this role again?

Someone needs to be fired at whatever studio green lit this.

Retire, you saggy old f*ck!!

Its too physical a role for him at his age

Theres no massive piece of artillery for him to hide behind in these movies
No car chases

Unless he just stands there like Shredder in TMNT 2:Secrets of the Ooze

(Honest Trailers is the coolest)

Pointless unless he gets someone to create a very serious look at a 60 yo Conan. If they take more of a Beowulf twist on the story where King Conan is asked to take on one last adventure against his most powerful adversary I could probably get into it. Clint did something similar for the western genre in Unforgiven. It was probably the most well rounded film Clint ever made and didn't have much action at all. If they could put that kind of conceptual and narrative spin on Conan I'd watch. It will be a lot harder to do with the Barbarian film genre but with the right effort it could be done. Dude can probably still swing a sword with the best of them.

Btw they did have a workout scene in Sabotage and Arnold is still a relatively muscular dude. By the time Conan starts filming he might be in passable shape for an older version of the character.

The film would have to give the character a glorious bloody death.

A lot of directors came fourth? Which ones came first, second and third?

This only works with Milius at the helm and a script by Stone.

@SACdaddy

I love Eastwood's Unforgiven as well. I believe it's the last time a western won the oscar for best picture. If you've seen Expendables 3 yet then you say Stallone is still super buff and ripped. He's roughly the same age as Arnold. Because Stallone loves the human growth hormone....still.

But there's another reason Arnold can't make an Unforgiven the way that Eastwood did here and it's probably the most important.

Clint Eastwood was and probably still is a pretty good actor. Arnold can still barely speak English worth a damn and he's always poked fun at his own sh*tty acting abilities.
