"X-Men vs Justice League" Will NOT Happen, Fox Won't Buy Time Warner

"X-Men vs Justice League" Will NOT Happen, Fox WonSubmit Comment
A few weeks ago, it was reported that 21st Century Fox placed a bid of $80 billion to purchase Time Warner, which owns Warner Bros and DC Comics. That would mean that one day we could see an "X-Men vs Justice League" movie.

Time Warner rejected the bid, but Fox wasn't willing to simply go away and was planning to reword the bid and before resubmitting it. Unfortunately, it's now being reported that Fox withdrew its offer, mostly because the result of the proposed deal was unattractive to Fox shareholders.

After the bid was withdrawn, Warner Bros stock took a bit of a hit. But the studio is only looking toward the future.

"Time Warner's Board and management team are committed to enhancing long-term value and we look forward to continuing to deliver substantial and sustainable returns for all stockholders," the company said in a statement. "Time Warner is well positioned for success with our iconic assets, including the world's leading premium television brand, the world's strongest ad-supported cable network group, and the world's largest film and television studio. We thank our stockholders for their continued support."

No sh*t Sherlock, but you can be damned sure Rupert will try again. The rapacity of rich old white guys knows no satiety. Regardless, even if they had merged, it would have been at least ten years before such a film was made, if ever.

Fox truly confuses me. How a company can be that great and that horrible at the same time and still function is beyond me.

@Tanman: that no sh*t wasn't towards you it was towards Alex. You got in my way as I was posting, dog.

Anyway.

FOX offered TimeWarner non-voting stock. Of course TW voted "f*ck no". FOX thought they could pay off the shareholders in exchange for control of their corporation. Thing is TW's shareholders are filthy rich and looking to become even more more filthy rich. Time Warner either needs to offer more money or voting control of the merged company.

That's how f*cking stupid FOX is...but Rupert will find a way to make it happen.

So, we got saved from ANOTHER geeky Super-Hero movie! The mass moviegoer is really getting weary of all the Super-Hero permutations!

Hollywood needs to give it a rest and get back to making ORIGINAL stories!

All the caped crusaders are burnt out!
