Marvel Takes Old "The Amazing Spider-Man 4" Date, Likely for "Avengers 3"Submit Comment
Last week, Marvel announced five release dates for the studio's upcoming movies. It was never revealed which movies will actually be released on those dates, and now comes word that yet another date has been allocated.

That date is May 4th, 2018, the same date that Sony had for "The Amazing Spider-Man 4." With the recent announcement that "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" has been pushed back to 2018, the date became available and Marvel snatched it up.

This means that Marvel will release three movies in 2018, and the new date is likely meant for "Avengers 3." We'll likely find out more during Comic-Con.

Here is what Marvel's schedule looks like:

* May 1st, 2015 - Avengers: Age of Ultron

* July 17th, 2015 - Ant-Man

* May 6th, 2016 - Captain America 3

* July 8th, 2016 - ?

* May 5th, 2017 - ?

* July 28th, 2017 - ?

* November 3rd, 2017 - ?

* May 4th, 2018 - ?

* July 6th, 2018 - ?

* November 2nd, 2018 - ?

* May 3rd, 2019 - ?

If only they would take the entire damned property and do something useful with it. Like flush it down the toilet.

It won't be too long now until Sony sells Spidey back to Marvel.

Haven't been here in months. Looks like nothing had been done to stem the tide of comic book related movie news. Yes, I know comic con just started. Still, the news on this site just plain sucks now. Guess I'll have to stick to deadline for actual movie news, even though that site is obnoxious as hell.

See you in another couple of months.

@mink
Sony can't when it's the only useful property they have in film.
