Alec Baldwin is Head of CIA in "Mission: Impossible 5"Submit Comment
It was recently reported that Alec Baldwin has been cast in Will Smith's NFL concussions film. And now comes word that the actor has also joined "Mission: Impossible 5" as the head of the CIA.

Also joining "Mission: Impossible 5" is Rebecca Ferguson as the female lead. Details of her role has yet to be revealed. Ferguson was nominated for a Golden Globe for BBC's "The White Queen" and is set to appear in Brett Ratner's "Hercules."

"Mission: Impossible 5" brings back Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg. It's directed by Christopher McQuarrie and is set to hit theaters on December 25th, 2015.

There was a rumor that this 5th film will be somewhat based upon the original pilot episode.

@Tan

Alec was on 30 Rock for all 7 seasons but the other 3 brothers have mostly faded into sad, chinless obscurity.

Solid cast although I wish Ving Rhames would come back. He made the films along with Cruise. I like Ferguson though. She was great in "The White Queen" Ben though the series itself was utterly repetitive at some points. Still liked it though.

@sleuth

Ving has been in them all. Even in 4 albeit just the final scenes. But I highly doubt he wont be in 5, especially considering the reason he didnt star in 4 was due to money and his career has tanked since.

Iirc simon Peggs part in 4 was originally written as rhames role. Due to financial reasons they re-wrote it for pegg. Honestly I doubt they even had to change much other than a few lines of dialog.

@Vincere01
LOL I know about the contract dispute with M:I 4. It doesn't make it any less upsetting. And no their dialogue and character would have been very different. Rhames is a confident, c*cky badass. PEgg's character is a stereotypical nerd, comedic relief. That gets old nowadays.

Wow. We went from Jon Voight to Lawrence Fishburne to Alec Baldwin ....

Thank god they asked the one Baldwin that could act. The others have been slumming their way through their careers and are lucky they aren't asking for cat food and living at homeless shelters.

Especially that "Einstein" Stephen <---sarcasm.

The secret to Tom Cruise's success? Alec mentioned it earlier ... A + B + C

@sleuth

I said they had to change the dialog to better fit pegg. But the overall purpose of that character would not change. What they character did as part of the team is identical.

And rhames lines usually had a comedic tone to them, just in a different way. So he was also used as comic relief in the films. Just different than pegg
