Before being released in theaters "You're Next" home invasion film was tracking to become a big hit. Critics loved it, fans who had a chance to see early screenings loved it as well. But when the film was actually released, it underperformed with earnings of $7 million. The final worldwide total ended up being only $18 million.
So while "You're Next 2" will likely not happen, director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett re-teamed for "The Guest" thriller. And we now have a trailer for the new film. Check it out below.
The film tells the story of a young soldier who arrives on the doorstep of the Peterson family, claiming to be a good friend of their beloved son who died in action. The Petersons welcome David into their home and into their lives, but when people start mysteriously dying in town, mayhem ensues as their teenage daughter Anna starts wondering if David is responsible.
You're Next was garbage. I checked that piece of sh*t out at the library. Didn't even download it. Little more than a dark, under-saturated shaky-cam murder film inside a house with punks in masks and an wholly uninspired ending.
Camilla Belle's When A Stranger Calls is a hell of a lot better.
