According to Fandango, "Transformers: Age of Extinction" is responsible for 96% of all ticket pre-sales for the weekend of June 27th. The film is on track to gross over $100 million during its first weekend.

The opening numbers look similar to the ones for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon." The films went on to gross $836 million and $1.12 billion worldwide, respectively.

The website also conducted a survey, asking over 1,000 "Transformers: Age of Extinction" ticket-buyers about the new film. Here are the results.

92% have seen previous "Transformers" movies on the big screen

83% are fans of director Michael Bay

76% say the addition of Mark Wahlberg increased their interest in the movie

75% claim the Dinobots made them more excited to see it

66% picked Grimlock as the Dinobot they most wanted to see

In a related pole, at least 10 million movie goers are sh*teating idiots.

Should be decent. First one wasn't absolutely terrible nor was Dark of the Moon. Revenge of the Fallen failed because of the writer strike IIRC, so if you liked one and three, four should be a no-brainer, much like the movie itself.

I thought one was the perfect mix of action and not taking itself too seriously. That honest trailers you put up of the second one couldn't have been any more spot on about the things wrong with that film. Still haven't seen number 3 because 2 scarred me for life. This one looks pretty cool though and the inclusion of the Dinosaurs will at least help me distinguish who's fighting who.

From memory, the first of the trilogy wasn't too bad. Although I struggle to recall what happened in the final act.

The second was just nonsense. Swinging balls on a pyramid, the over-the-top "comic" relief from the guy in his underwear, the cosmic themes etc. I actually fell asleep watching it.

Kill it with fire!

The third tried to change things up a bit. The premise was interesting enough with the respect to the Apollo tie-in but I felt it went into wide-scale destruction a little too Bay at the end. They attempted to bring in far too many characters for the sake of brawling on the streets as opposed to developing some characterisation and plot.

Come to think of it. The final act of Man of Steel might have used Dark of the Moon as inspiration.
