Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we now have seven new photos from Tom Hardy's "Mad Max: Fury Road," which co-stars Charlize Theron. Check out the photos below, in addition to the "Mad Max" cover of the magazine.

In the movie, Hardy stars as the road warrior Max Rockatansky, the character played by Mel Gibson in the original three film. Theron plays a commander named Imperator Furiosa.

"Mad Max: Fury Road" is directed by George Miller (Mad Max) and is set to hit conventional and 3D theaters on May 15th, 2015.

Looks too generic.

I feel like I've wasted my money, and I haven't even bought a ticket yet.

There have been so many post-apocalyptic Mad Max-type movies post the actual Mad Max trilogy thatíd it be hard for this not to look generic at first glance.

But knowing the production facts, and from these pictures alone, it also looks insanely over budgeted and committed, which is the kind of batsh*t filmmaking a proper Mad Max return needs.

However, thereís no getting around the absence of Gibson in the role; sorry, Hardy, Iím sure you brought your A-game but the fact that Mad Mel wasnít brought back as and aged and ever-more haggard Rockatansky (with Mad Melís latter years, off-screen persona to boot) is one of the more outright wasted opportunities in the history of genre movies. Hereís hoping it still makes that rumored cameo, at least.

Otherwise, my hopes for this rest almost solely on the fact that itís George Miller returning, and not some Brett Ratner clone or hip, young South American/European director with no real grasp for the originals.

Also, Theron's gotta robotic arm. That's pretty neat.

*he still makes*

TWO MEN ENTER!! ONE MAN LEAVES!!

Say what you will about Gibson but, he definitely brought the Mad to Mad Max.

I'd have loved to have seen him in the lead for this telling Theron, "you should blow me first!! Then jacuzzi."

The name of that road warrior sound eerily familiar!

Looks like a pale imitation of the original with prettier people.

Meh....just not getting that Mel magic from these shots. Jesus, why the hell would they think anyone else could play that part? It's like making Indiana Jones without Ford, Rambo without Sly, and Terminator without Arnold.

I like the looks of the new Guy Pearce Mad Max-ish movie more.

This movie has been in the making for decades now. I remember hearing about it in 1998 when I had aol. Its gotta be good, it has to succeed. Beyond thunderdome was the biggest joke ever. I dont consider it part of the series and in actually never was supposed to have anything to do with mad max.

@boogiel That is exactly how I would describe the original Mad Fax. And that's a good thing in my opinion. Bring it back to its roots George!

One of the few reboots I'm looking forward to since George Miller is doing it again. Loved that Pig in the City movie.
