Gary Oldman Defends Mel Gibson's Anti-Semitism, Immediately Apologizes

Posted: June 25th, 2014 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Gary Oldman Defends Mel GibsonSubmit Comment
Gary Oldman recently sat down for an interview with Playboy to promote his upcoming "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes." It is in this interview that the actor decided to defend Mel Gibson and reveal his own racist and anti-Semitic views.

As a reminder, when Gibson was arrested, he was heard saying: "F*cking Jews. The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world." Oldman feels there's nothing wrong with these comments, mostly because he uses language like that himself.

"[Mel] got drunk and said a few things, but we've all said those things. We're all f*cking hypocrites," Oldman told the magazine. "The policeman who arrested him has never used the word n*gger or that f*cking Jew? It's the hypocrisy of it that drives me crazy. I don't blame him. Mel Gibson is in a town that's run by Jews and he said the wrong thing because he's actually bitten the hand that I guess has fed him ó and doesn't need to feed him anymore because he's got enough dough."

The police officer who arrested Gibson is offended by the accusation that he's secretly racist and anti-Semitic. "I'm Jewish," he told TMZ. "Why would I say that to discredit my own religious make-up? The n-word is a scary word. I would never even dream of using it. It sickens me that anyone would use that word. Jews have been persecuted and put down over the years. Why would I, as a Jew, do that to other races? I feel sorry for people that need to say things about other people in order to justify themselves."

Since the release of Oldman's comments, there has been a big backlash, which caused the actor to apologize. "I am deeply remorseful that comments I recently made in the Playboy Interview were offensive to many Jewish people... If, during the interview, I had been asked to elaborate on this point I would have pointed out that I had just finished reading Neal Gabler's superb book about the Jews and Hollywood, 'An Empire of Their Own: How the Jews Invented Hollywood.' The fact is that our business, and my own career specifically, owes an enormous debt to that contribution."

He went on to say: "The Jewish People, persecuted thorough the ages, are the first to hear Godís voice, and surely are the chosen people. I would like to sign off with 'Shalom Aleichem' ó but under the circumstances, perhaps today I lose the right to use that phrase, so I will wish you all peace."

f*ck em. Ge off Gary Oldman's back or it's back into the oven for you f*ckers.

After this, I think Oldman is blacklisted now. You can only say positive things about the Jews these days. I don't know why he felt the urge to say this but he could have picked another exemple if you wanted to define the hypocrisy in general.

Oldman backpedaled because, in fact, many Hollywood studios are run by Jews - and he doesn't want to be blackballed. Plain and simple - he's covering his butt. His agent said "apologize or don't work."

I am very sorry that blacks were slaves...I am very sorry that Hitler was a psychotic murderous madman...I am also sorry that the Japanese Army pillaged, looted, and raped all the women in Nanking and Korea...but I had absolutely nothing to do with it and neither did any of my relatives. There, I've said it.

Maybe he's just sick of being in everything these days, trying to get a wee break from hunners of scripts firing through his door each day.

Scandalous that he's told the truth and has to apologise though.

The point he's trying to make, me thinks, is whether or not intolerance for intolerant people is OK or hypocritical. In other words, if refusing to hire someone because they're red, black, white, or yellow is wrong than shouldn't the refusal to hire someone because they're racist also be wrong?

And before any flame war starts out, I am NOT justifying racism, if that's the point you thought I was making then you need to improve your reading comprehension.

Oldman had to apologize for the simple reason of protecting his career. Sometimes you gotta to what you gotta do, cop-out or not. But, yeah, I agree with his initial comments made in Playboy.

The pious bullsh*t is stacked to King Kong heights regarding anyone who claims to have never uttered a racial slur, regardless of their own ethnicity or skin pigment. It doesn't mean the world is absolute racist, necessarily, just that people are people.

No, I don't have the evidence, but I'll nonetheless content right here with the utmost confidence that the police officer is lying straight out of his ass.

They left out a particular part of the comment how certain people have been allowed to use those words comedically in talk shows or something yet Mel Gibson says it drunk and he gets railroaded for it. He also pointed out people use comedy as a means to somehow make it okay to use those words. I think there was something also about how it's about whitewashing political correctness and the sensitivity of our society these days. Frankly this is genius that he apologized. He got to prove his own point. Oldman you brilliant bastard!

Gary's just as dumb a f*cker as the rest of them. He goes on defending these guys and saying what he says and then apologizes ? Didn't he think they would print what he says without misrepresentation or slander ? You know he must've regretted what he said because they weren't taking what he said out of context, so now he has to backpedal just like the rest of those miserable c*nts in Hollywood. f*cking prick. If you don't mean it, don't say it, you f*cking limey piece of sh*t.

By the way,

I am deeply remorseful that comments I recently made on the Worst Previews were offensive to many motherf*cking people... Anyone who criticizes the Israeli government for how they treat Palestinians is also blacklisted by Hollywood.

-Criticizing Israel = Antisemitism
-All Palestinians = Terrorists
-Supporting a Palestinian State = Antisemitism
-Killing a Palestinian child = Fighting the war on terror
-Kindness towards Palestinians = Antisemitism

That right there is Hollywood logic.
