Sylvester Stallone Once Again Working on "Rambo 5"

Sylvester Stallone Once Again Working on "Rambo 5"Submit Comment
We've been hearing about a fifth "Rambo" movie for years. At first, Sylvester Stallone wanted to make the film a sci-fi tale. Then he wanted to make a prequel with a younger actor playing the role. But everything eventually fell apart.

Now comes word that Stallone is once again interested in "Rambo 5" and is currently working on the screenplay. This news isn't coming from some unnamed source, but from a film investor, Splendid Medien AG.

The company recently put out a press release, which states (translated from German): "With 'Rambo V,' Sylvester Stallone returns to his signature role. This time he messes with the Mexican cartel. Stallone, who is also responsible for the screenplay, describes the new 'Rambo' as his version of 'No Country for Old Men.' Avi Lerner returns to produce."

Stallone previously spoke about a storyline that takes Rambo to Mexico to rescue a kidnapped girl. He also mentioned that Rambo may not survive, which is something hinted at by the "No Country for Old Men" reference.

Stallone once again working on a pointlessly violent film sequel to a series that died decades ago, a film that works so desperately hard for an R-rating it should be shelved next to the Saw series.

@Tanman

Actually Stallone is also working on a script for "CREED" where he trains Apollo Creed's son.

Let's just hope he doesn't cop-out with another PG-13 rating. I can more or less excuse him for doing as much with Expendables 3, but a Rambo movie without an R-rating is like going to a steak house for a f*cking salad.

Actually Rambo IV was pretty good with the exact ending for the serie. Now this washed up f*ck just can't stop. He'll make Expendables and Rocky until he's so mummified he can't stick a needle in his ass.

The only way ... and I do mean the ONLY WAY ... I'd even consider watching this is IF RAMBO DIES AT THE f*ckING END.

Stallone is a smart cookie. He knows his niche audience and he will work them into a frenzy and put asses in seats. But he forgot one f*cking thing about Rambo ... RAMBO WAS TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO AVOID WAR.

He kept saying it over and over and over again.

But Stallone ? He wants asses in seats and he'll have Rambo fighting till he needs to strangle the bad guy with a walker.
