Josh Brolin is Thanos in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron"

Josh Brolin is Thanos in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron"Submit Comment
After appearing in "The Avengers" post-credits scene, Marvel announced that the villainous Thanos will play a massive role in the upcoming movies.

Thanos will first make an appearance in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and then in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." But we'll have to wait until "The Avengers 3" to see the superheroes battle the villain.

Since Thanos will be a CG character, Marvel needs an actor to voice him. Apparently the studio just hired someone to do just that. And that someone is Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Me, Oldboy, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For).

Big deal. He'll have a twenty-second role in the post-credits scene of GoG, playing the voice of Thanos.

"Should've been Clancy Brown."

Nah. Christopher Judge. Even kind of looks like him. Or even Keith David.

Am I the only one who isn't that interested in Gotg? Perhaps it's because I never followed the characters before? Probably..

@tan

Not just you bud. Im in the uninterested camp. As is most of the movie going public. This movie is gonna lose loads of money and then star wars will make It back.

And antmam will be canceled outright when gotg bombs

Anyway, back to GotG and the Brolin casting...

Not seeing it. He has a strong voice, but they should have hired a black guy with a deep baritone articulation, such as Jones for Darth Vader.

As for Clancy Brown...he has a growling, snarling presence when speaking, but no one knows who the f*ck Brown is. If you asked a hundred people on the street "do you know who Clancy Brown is?", one might say, yeah the sadistic coward guard in The Shawshank Redemption. Two more might say the villain from Highlander. That's it.

It's all about screen name recognition. That's why they went with Brolin. Probably.

Definitely "Clancy Brown" on the poster isn't up to snuff with Marvel's attitude of hiring big, established names, and if you cite RDJ as a counter-example, well, IIRC there was quite a fight to bring him aboard. Doubt Clancy has that support. Doubt Clancy has much right now.

Guardians looks good, will probably bomb but i am still looking foreward to it.
Agree with mink..not the right man for the job even though he is a solid actor- They should be looking for more bass.
Idris Elba could be good but he was in Thor...
Find some unknown, growling, death metal guy :)

I just see this going the route of kick ass at best, and kick ass 2 at worst as far as box office. But this movie cost way more to produce. 100 million plus loss for disney

Should have went with Schwarzenegger.
