"The Shield" Actor Arrested For Killing His WifeSubmit Comment
Actor Michael Jace, who played LAPD officer Julien Lowe on "The Shield" TV series, has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting his wife after calling the police and telling an operator that he shot her.

The couple's two sons, both under ten years of age, were at home at the time, although police are unsure if they witnessed the argument or gunfire. There had been no previous reports of domestic violence at the home.

Detectives are investigating whether the couple's financial situation may have played a role in the killing. Jace had been under financial pressure in recent years with debt totaling between $500,000 and $1 million. He filed for bankruptcy in 2011 and had been delinquent on payments as recently as December.

Jace starred in all seven seasons of "The Shield," and also appeared on "Southland," "Planet of the Apes," "Boogie Nights" and "Forrest Gump." He's being heldon $1 million bail.

There won't be any shield to protect his ass in a federal prison.

He probably never got over the repeated scenes of him making out HARD with dudes on "The Shield". And apparently, judging by his debt, he wasnt paid NEARLY the amount it would have taken foe ME to make out with dudes. That amount being infinity dollars.

Why would Jace shoot his wife because of financial difficulties and then call 911 to tell them he shot her? Maybe if she had a life insurance policy, and he made it look like a burglary. Maybe.

Really, your powers of deduction are astounding, Mr. WorstPreviews.

Life insurance policy???

Makes sense mink. What idiot would shoot his wife and then call to say she's been shot without trying to make it look like someone else did it.

@Tanman: I know, right? I guess Alex thinks that's how it works. He must have seen it in a movie somewhere. You know, because when people think of getting out of their stupendous debts, their first thought is to shoot the wife and then call 911 to confess.

LMAO!
Tanman32123 writes:

It's says in the article that he called police to say HE shot her. Why would anyone do that lmao Is that even true?
minkowski writes:

^^I know. That's why when I read Alex playing Encyclopedia Brown saying the dude shot her for money, I had to laugh, because how many people shoot their wives and then call police and confess just to get out of substantial debt?

I mean, f*ck has to be an easier way to deal with debt than life in prison, right? Like...bankruptcy?

Does that make ANY kind of f*cking sense or did Alex just write that sh*t to turn a simple story of murder into something more lurid and "interesting"?

^^^Ah, so the guy who filed bankruptcy three years ago and who still owes upwards a million dollars shot his wife to death during an argument over the money.

Wow. Greed really f*cked this guy's universe all up.

P.S. I missed the part about the previous bankruptcy and admit I read only parts of the article.

My bad!
minkowski writes:

Dude didn't shoot his wife over money. He shot his wife because she was giving him a really hard time because he's a f*cking greedy idiot. Nothing else matters and it's just sh*t the cops are exploring to give good press.

If this dude were some janitor and blew away his wife because she's was ragging on him over disconnected utilities, the cops would write it off as domestic homicide. second degree murder. Nothing more.

The way the article is written makes it sound like dude offed his wife for a pay-out, which is actually so f*cking common as to not be believed.

Hilarious: his bail is identical to what he owes in debts:

"Jace had been under financial pressure in recent years with debt totaling between $500,000 and $1 million."

"He's being heldon [sic] $1 million bail."

Magic Eight Ball says "you be f*cked!".

"Meet c*ntkowsky, the Sherlock of the 21st century! Somebody call the detectives in charge and just forward his comment to guide them to the holy f*cking clue"

lol. There's no reason for the cops to investigate why they were arguing. None. They have ballistics, forensics, blood spatter, gunshot residue, his 9-11 confession, everything. It won't matter because there's a 99.99% chance dude will plead out. Even if he doesn't the reason why they were arguing won't matter to a f*cking jury.

Motive just isn't that important in cases like this because the prosecution only to has to prove the defendant committed the act, and the jury doesn't give a rat's merry motherf*cking ass about what him and his now-dead wife were arguing. It could have been whether to go to Buffalo Wild Wings or Antwon's Rib Crib. Doesn't matter.

This is nothing more than journalists sensationalizing a tragic story in favor of that old adage of "if it bleeds, it leads", and I doubt the cops are interested in the topic of Jace and his deceased wife's conversation. More like the actual facts and evidence. Probably some bone-headed hungry tabloid "reporter" teasing out "details" to make a more salacious and salivating webprint article, and Alex f*cking repeats it without rewriting the story to fit the known facts and not rumor-mill hypothesizing.

A perfect exemplar of yellow journalism.
