A new trailer for Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" will be released online on Monday (May 19th). Leading up to that trailer, the studio has been unveiling new footage, including a look at Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) speaking. Check it out below.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" centers on Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), a US pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants.
The new movie is directed by James Gunn and is set to hit theaters on August 1st.
I mean, as far as I can remember, he's had a c*ckney accent for the other times I've heard him speak. Which was kind of his signature thing. An animal talking with Cooper's regular voice would be f*cking annoying after about five seconds. Which is probably why he only says two words in this.
I wonder if Rocket Raccoon asks if they have any more of those funny little pills that super-enhance his memory, if Murdock will fly the chopper out of there and if he will be forced to wear a bad perm and follow Christian Bale around, while Christian wears a bad comb-over.
It must suck that your first comic book movie role is a raccoon that hardly gets to speak more than a few over-processed words.
Yes, Rocket will surely have more to say in the full film, but if I were Cooper, I'd be a little annoyed my voice acting was receiving such early short shrift, and the if the character's CGI isn't quit up to snuff, as I suspect, more of his dialogue may "end up on the cutting room floor".
People really will complain about anything. Really? Rocket Raccoons lack of an "accent"? One, he's an alien, so if we want to be technical, he shouldn't have an australian accent at all. Two, he's only been featured in 3 television episodes and 3 video games, and he's been voiced differently by 5 actors. He hardly has a distinct, "signature" accent.
