Bryan Singer Discusses "X-Men: Apocalypse," Plus First "X-Men: Days of Future Past" ReactionsSubmit Comment
"X-Men: Days of Future Past" is set to hit theaters on May 24th and the first Twitter reactions are now popping up. Critics are calling it the best "X-Men" film and stating that the highlight is a sequence that involves Quicksilver. And yes, there's a post-credits scene.

It's expected that the movie will open to $125 million, which means that "X-Men: Apocalypse" is already a priority. "My next goal is how did the X-Men come together," said director Bryan Singer. "That story hasn't been told yet. It's in between the birth of that relationship with Charles and Erik and the formation of the X-Men."

When asked if we'll get to see young versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm, Singer replied: "Yeah, exactly." Writer Simon Kinberg added: "We'll be moving forward with some of the actors from the 'First Class'/'Days of Future Past' cast."

Hey I'm all for the film succeeding and this is a unique concept but he shouldn't just keep doing prequels. I mean I get it, it's all about keeping it young and fresh, but once you start going down the prequel route continuously you're going to start making really predictable films because you know exactly where everything is going. I think Apocalypse would have been a better modern story and Days of Future Past had corrected everything so Cyclops and Jean Grey were alive along with a few new faces. First Class did a good job of explaining the motivations and how two friends could splinter so much but, as even Singer said, they aren't going to change much even with a corrected timeline so really is it worth continuously going down memory lane?

I swear to God, if the Quicksilver scene involves him running super fast that he time travels I'm going to find these critics and slap them. Not exactly a clever concept unless they utilize it well.

The only interesting about Bryan Singer is how much time will he spent in jail and how many times his gay ass will be raped.

That's the real question now.

Just like with Dark8, how many times does he get f*cked in the ass without asking him? That's an interesting statistic.

How the X-men come together? Isn't that what First Class did?
In fact, it's in the title.

@WV-Films
Well I'm assuming he means the main group of Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm but yeah it seems overkill to have to do a story about it. Plus, if they include the messed up Wolverine origins they already covered cyclops, X3 covered Jean Grey, and Storm...well she doesn't need a whole film to explain her story does she?

Right. It's dumb.

You bastard. LOL Wait didn't Jackman say he wanted Tatum to take over as Wolverine when he retired and almost immediately lost his man car because of it? LOL

"It's expected that the movie will open to $125 million"

Hollywood has become such an assembly line of pre-made, pre-purchased crap, they know what they're goiong to make before they make it.

Anyway, I'll catch this one on The Bay.

if i'm ever conscious after death, one of my thoughts will be thinking of how much better the 90s cartoon is compared to any film version

The movie combines two casts with a storyline that can't possibly be brought to the screen accurately or well enough in a two hour-three hour time span. Were you expecting a masterpiece? I was and then I saw the Twitter reviews that were clearly manufactured puff pieces. Then I thought back to Amazing Spider-Man 2 and their good reviews and thought, "Wow...this movie must be worse than I thought."

^^What I meant is this: how do they know how much money they'll make? How could they know? Yes, it's all in the math, sure, but the fact they can easily predict a good estimate of the initial BO haul means we've long moved past the point where filmmaking is an art and well into the area where filmmaking is every bit as commercial as a Taiwanese underwear factory.

Hey I agree. It's lost it's luster.. Everything is about adapting everyone else's work and sometimes not even doing it well to the point you make it to be commercially viable instead of letting good ideass flourish in their uniqueness. They could have easily filmed this from Kitty's perspective and used the original cast which, by the way, were more successful whereas in box office past which is why they brought so many back. They could have let it take place in the 90's or something and skip all the sh*t we know is going to happen. Singer even said he isn't going to change much in the timeline. The trailer shows Magneto is going to go bad and use the sentinels for his own usage, that Mystique will become his lap dog, and Xavier will regain his confidence as a leader. They could have had Apocalypse take place in modern time and allow the better cast to take over and allow more mature storytelling but isntead we have Mystique the slut, Two great actors playing the younger selves but their friendship isn't explored enough to give a sh*t when it's gone, and a majority of the second string mutants taken up the screen. Oh and apparently a molester/psychopath directing it all.

Dark8 probably trolls various chan sites to find out if they have a stolen bit of home movies Bryan Singer has of him and kids in the bathtub, playing "Look for the Wolverine".

This movie will be like f*cking Dark8's mum: It's great at first, but eventually you get bored and lose the sensation.
