"Friday the 13th" Reboot in Talks with "V/H/S" DirectorSubmit Comment
Paramount Pictures is still working on its "Friday the 13th" reboot and is now in negotiations with David Bruckner to direct the new film, which is set to hit theaters on March 13th, 2015.

Bruckner wrote and directed the "Amateur Night" segment of "V/H/S," which follows three guys who bring a mysterious girl back to their motel room where terror strikes. Having Bruckner involved further pushes the rumor that "Friday the 13th" will be use the found-footage approach.

Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) directed the 2009 "Friday The 13th" reboot, which cost $19 million to make and grossed $90 million globally. The film did not get a sequel and almost ended the entire franchise.

They just rebooted this trash a few years ago.

Stop paying to have this garbage made, you f*cking American idiots.

I enjoyed the reboot from a few years ago. Why they just did a one and done with that is beyond me. It made a sh*t ton of money compared to what the production cost. But if they want to reboot it yet again... I'll see it yet again.

Yeah, the 2009 reboot wasn't bad, however Amateur Night was the reason I bought V/H/S in the first place.

yea son

When the majority are in agreement of something sucking major 90year old vagina
does the minority feel dumb? Or shame? Or lowbrow?

Firstly, he did good with the Signal.
Second. His segment on VHS was the best. Good concept and worked well with the found footage element (the Ti West film is good but takes too long to get to the climax, and the last one was a fun haunted house...not much).
Lastly, the Friday the 13th doesn't need another reboot, let alone a f*cking found footage. The horror aspect then turns to jump scares of Jason appearing of the dark, killing someone with a camera then someone else somehow getting that camera. Doesn't. Work.

sh*t. The first remake wasn't bad either. Not great by any means but not sh*t. Good kills, tough Jason and smoke show blonde letting it loose. Sort of what the series is built on: an unstoppable character, creative kills and a good pair of 20ish year old tits.

I'm more worried about the dumb majority that keeps getting this sh*t made, remade, rebooted, et cetera.

Yea.. Call it quits with Friday the 13th. Try again in another 10 years. Also, The segment this dude directed was the best segment in the whole movie (VHS)

Just noticed ZeroGuys comment lol Seriously tho, that segment was pretty kickass :P

Anybody seen the sequel?

Sequel sucked

Unless you suspend the belief that cameras need operators
Zeroguy writes:

Sequel was better. Better stories. Safe Haven was the best thing about either film.
And I have a soft spot for Alien Slumber Party due to my canadian pride and the fact that the guy behind Hibo with a Shotgun did it.

Well, buddy, it "worked" in Cloverfield.

So basically you can expect a bunch of morons running for two hours while being chased by some bozo in a hockey mask.

Should have got Glenn McQuaid. He did "Tuesday the 17th".

"Tuesday the 17th," written and directed by Irish filmmaker Glenn McQuaid, covers a horror subgenre that's near and dear to fans of characters like Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers and Italian directors like Mario Bava: the slasher movie.
Zeroguy writes:

Tuesday the 17th was awful. Worst tape outta the bunch.

Only way they can do the F13th found footage correctly is do one of two options.
1) have a camera man with camera duties who follows his gang around Camp Crystal Lake (or whatever location that isn't the f*cking city of NY).
Or 2) copy the Halloween Ressurection format is which morons are locked in a location with handcams/gopros and rooms filled with fixed cams. Jason goes around and picks them off one by one. (But look at how that pos film turned out...a low rent rapper kicked Myers' ass).

Either way, to Project X/Cloverfield the series, is to show how unbelievably tapped they are for anything creative.
Maybe save the money and give Adam Wingard 5 mil to make another horror film with his friends. He did so f*cking well with You're Next.

The 2009 one wasn't even that bad. I liked the how the end wasn't a happy one.

kind of laughed at this...was just questioning the same thing...this reboot will be about as bad as fantastic four reboot, it's just too soon
