Today we have what looks like a sales trailer for the upcoming "Maps to the Stars," which is directed by David Cronenberg (The Fly, Eastern Promises, a History of Violence) and stars John Cusack, Julianne Moore, Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska, and Sarah Gadon. Check it out below.
Plot: The Weiss family is the archetypical Hollywood dynasty: father Sanford (Cusack) is an analyst and coach, who has made a fortune with his self-help manuals; mother Christina (Olivia Williams) mostly looks after the career of their son Benjie (Evan Bird), 13, a child star.
One of Sanford's clients, Havana (Moore), is an actress who dreams of shooting a remake of the movie that made her mother, Clarice (Gadon), a star in the '60s. Clarice is dead now and visions of her come to haunt Havana at night. Adding to the toxic mix, Benjie has just come off a rehab program he joined when he was 9 and his sister, Agatha (Wasikowska), has recently been released from a sanatorium where she was treated for criminal pyromania.
Months ago, when I saw the words "Cronenberg to direct "Maps to the Stars", I thought, "Cool, Cronenberg is returning to science fiction." Then I read the synopsis, and thought , "I don't give a sh*t about this."
This is one of the worst trailers I have seen in an long time. The music choice the edits, It's garbage! It gives me zero interest in this movie and I am normally always interested to see what the burg will do but this is some truly sh*tty marketing.

I'd rather read the back of a toothpaste tube then suffer that synopsis again.
