Matt Damon is a Stranded Astronaut on Mars in "The Martian" Sci-Fi FilmPosted: April 10th, 2014 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) just signed on to direct "The Sinister Six," a Spider-Man spin-off focusing on the villainous group. Because of the new gig, he had to drop out of "The Martian," a sci-fi movie that Matt Damon may star in.
20th Century Fox is eager to move forward with "The Martian" and is now searching for Goddard's replacement. Since Damon is yet to be officially on board, his involvement will likely depend on the director.
"The Martian" is based on an e-book by Andy Weir and follows an astronaut who becomes the first person to walk on Mars, but is then left for dead on the planet. He must now figure out how to survive long enough to return to Earth. The project has been described as a cross between "Apollo 13" and "Cast Away."

They already made a cross between apollo 13 and cast away. It was called "Gravity."

There was a good "Mars" themed movie I watched once. Can't remember the title... In the Ed they run out of oxygen and the one guy just takes his mask off ready to die and they find out you CAN breath on Mars.
Decent flick. Anywas, I'd probably watch this depending if he stay on board or not

Wait, so he might not be an Astronaut in The Martian? Your article title displays an air of certainty that your article doesn't reflect.
I understand you need traffic to this site but this is bordering on false reporting

More like a cross between Gravity and Red Planet.

Ah, yes, because Red Planet, John Carter and Mission to Mars were ALL big hits, right? Right?

Sounds like The Castaway of Mars. Or me as I'm stranded in the cultural wasteland of modern America.
