Ivan Reitman Says "Ghostbusters 3" is NOT Dead, Confirms Talks with LeBron James for "Space Jam 2"Submit Comment
First Harold Ramis passed away, then director Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters) dropped out of "Ghostbusters 3." And considering that Bill Murray has no interest in returning, many thought it was a good idea to just let the third installment die.

But then came word that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street) signed on to direct "Ghostbusters 3," putting the project back on the right track. Unfortunately, it didn't take much for the two helmers to also drop out.

Now, during a new interview, Reitman confirmed that Murray will not return, but revealed that the project is far from dead. "We have a great script that doesn't really require much from any of the original Ghostbusters," he explained. "The two that are still interested would be in it, and a few of the other characters."

Regarding why he isn't directing, Reitman said: "The death of Harold really threw me. He was an old friend and it just seemed to be the appropriate time to pass the torch. Just like it's the appropriate time for the Ghostbusters to pass that torch."

Reitman also commented on the rumor that Warner Bros is developing "Space Jam 2" for LeBron James. "Yeah, there had been some talk with LeBron James of doing another one, but so far that doesn't seem to be going forward."

Harold Ramis is more alive than this zombie of a film.

The only place a second Space Jam can go is down. Down the pipes with all the other turds.

but Egon still is.

Confirms Talks with LeBron James for "Space Jam 2 ... Guess that means LeBron can finally be called "Masked Man" on screen and not what he looks like .... a mugger.

BTW, LeBron. Seen ya in those milk commercials. You better get your acting skills honed. You have more airtime than Charles and Muggsy, but at least they had less screen time ... so when Charles mumbled his lines, no one cared.

f*ck Lebron!! He's dominating a weak NBA. Put him back with the NBA 15-20 years ago, Jordan and everyone else would have handed his ass to him.
