"Noah," "Frozen" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" Dominate Box Office

"Noah," "Frozen" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" Dominate Box OfficeSubmit Comment
Darren Aronofsky's biblical "Noah" film opened to an impressive $44 million domestically, a good enough start to make back its $125 million budget. Internationally it earned another $51 million, bringing its worldwide debut to $95 million. The film has a 75% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.

The other wide release of the weekend was Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Sabotage" action film, which grossed a lousy $5.3 million, becoming the actor's worst opening in nearly three decades and the worst out of his movies that opened in more than 2,000 theaters. "Terminator" was released in 1,112 theaters and earned $4 million in 1984. "Red Sonja" opened in 1,091 theaters and earned $2.3 million in 1985.

Recently, however, this has become a pattern for Schwarzenegger. His "Escape Plan" opened to $9.9 million and "The Last Stand" opened to $6.3 million. "Sabotage" is also getting poor reviews, currently sitting on a 22% fresh rating.

On the limited release side, Michael Pena's "Cesar Chavez" biopic opened in 664 theaters, landing in 12th place. The movie earned $3 million and has a 40% fresh rating. "The Raid 2" opened in seven theaters, earning $177,000 for an impressive per-screen average o $25,286. It has a 75% fresh rating.

Even though "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" won't be released in the US until April 4th, it's already playing overseas in 32 markets. The new Marvel movie grossed a whopping $75.2 million, nearly double the debut of "Captain America: The First Avenger." The sequel also has an amazing 93% fresh rating.

Meanwhile, "Frozen" continues to perform well. Not only did it win the Oscar for Best Animated Film, but it has now become the highest-grossing animated movie of all time with earnings of $1.072 billion worldwide, beating the previous record-holder "Toy Story 3."

No one gives a f*ck, commie sc*m. Make a good Ronald Reagan movie or Suck a d*ck and Die Hard (the title of the next John McClane movie).

I'm going to see Noah at my local drive inn. I haven't been there in over 6 years and cant wait to see Noah outside.
I'm also going to see The Grand Budapest Hotel this tuesday for 5 bucks at Regal.
Can't wait! Those are 2 of my favorite directors.
And Captain America at a 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes is pretty damn impressive. I'll probably go see that to if I got the cash, and I'm not one to run out to the movies often. I download everything and probably only go 2-3 times a year.
I'll be going at least twice this week.

Saw Sabotage today. Absolutely terrible. Felt and looked like it was made by a 15 year old. Terrible plot, worse acting, and Sam f*cking Worthington is in it. Had no idea that idiot was even supposed to be in the movie. And he's ever bit as horrible as you'd expect. If you want to see him get murdered in a completely p*ssy way go see this. It definitely the high point of this otherwise worthless film.

I saw Sabotage as well, though I actually enjoyed it. Not sure if the plot made total (or any) sense, but the shoot-outs were fun and it's a surpisingly darker film than I expected.
