"The Wolverine" Sequel to Film After "x-Men: Apocalypse"

"The Wolverine" Sequel to Film After "x-Men: Apocalypse"Submit Comment
20th Century Fox already announced that after "X-Men: Days of Future Past" is released on May 23rd, the studio will begin work on the next installment, called "X-Men: Apocalypse," which will hit theaters on May 27th, 2016.

But while Fox is moving forward with the "X-Men" franchise, it's also developing the next installment in "The Wolverine" series, bringing back director James Mangold to begin writing the screenplay.

While it's still unclear whether Hugh Jackman will reprise his role, Mangold just revealed via Twitter that "I'm shooting The next 'Wolverine' after 'X-Men: Apocalypse.'"

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will likely go in front of cameras next year, which means that we won't see another "Wolverine" movie until at least 2017. Jackman will be almost 50 years old by then.

"The Wolverine" was released last year and went on to gross $415 million on a budget of $120 million. It performed better than the 2009 "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which grossed $373 million on a budget of $150 million.

f*ck this, man, for me personally, Jackman can be Wolverine for at least 15 more years.

An older Wolverine will be more interesting, anyway. Provided they write his character in that direction.

I think that 2 more team up films, and this solo should be it for jackman. The kind of life he has to live to train for them, and it keepa becoming more difficult as he gets older.

Hes gotta reach his breaking point. Hes already said as much publicly. However he did really enjoy doing The Wolverine said it was a great story, director and he loved taking the character more dramatic. So I believe he will do another of the solo films.

Unless they come up with a way to cgi augment his body so he does not have to stay in such good shape, then I could see him continuing for a long time. They made ian and p stew look super young so who knows

@vincere01
A lot of people complain he was too young for the role so in opinion him getting older is like a fine wine, or at least the analogy of one, where the older he gets the better he is suited for the role. Personally it doesn't seem impossible for him to look good in his 50's given how actors are just better at taking care of themselves later in life nowadays.

keep milking that cash cow, Fox.

I love how FOX and other studios have turned film-making into yet another mass-produced assembly line of cheap, derivative junk.

in order to not be disappointed with x-men apocalypse being that it's already rumored to not follow source material, i'm just gonna avoid watching trailers and read comments

Producers of LOST still can't make any bloody sense ten years after:

Love Jackman as Wolverine! But for 2 times now he ended up in awful movies!
The Wolverine was worse than Origins imo.
