Should Marvel Make a Solo "Black Widow" Movie?

Should Marvel Make a Solo "Black Widow" Movie?Submit Comment
After appearing in "Iron Man 2" and "The Avengers," Marvel decided to give the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) more screen-time in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

Now, during a press conference for "The Winter Soldier," Marvel head Kevin Feige was asked whether a solo Black Widow film is being considered.

"I think the idea would be great," he said. "We've got various outlines and ideas of where to take that. As Scarlett already said, there's a big element that explores her back story in an upcoming Marvel feature. The question really is when will we take her out of the ensemble and have her do her own thing? As you saw in ['Captain America: The Winter Soldier'], as you'll see in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron,' she's really the key to so much of the plot development."

Question: Are you interested in seeing a solo Black Widow movie?

How do you know who's a fag? From those who say "no" to the article's question.

At this point, I don't see why not. The upcoming Winter Soldier looks to give her character quite a push, with more screen time than ever before, second only to Captain America himself. If the film does as well as early reviews are promising, her character may become that much more of a favorite.

And I'm sure Marvel is looking for anything to further capitalize on its female demographic, particularly young girls in relation to boys.

It's no secret Back Widow was included to assist Marvel in their quest to enlist more female viewers.

What is a mystery is why they haven't already tried to move ahead with a female solo lead film movie, which is the one last arena equally open to both Marvel and DC.

In fact, one could argue DC has a chance to develop a niche market, a chink from which they can grow their cinematic universe, by bringing Wonder Woman successfully to the big screen before Marvel can do likewise with one of their female characters.

@mink
because unfortunately you can only have one female-led action film at a time and we all know who is ruling that department. Give you a hint, she makes Scarlett look like a genius and Black Widow would snap her characters neck with her own bow wrapped around it. LOL

@Sleuth: you must mean JL in The Hunger Games?

Well, I don't really consider her a comic bo0ok character, and in all candidness, whatever character development Collins has woven into her Hunger Games novels doesn't hold up to the decades Marvel has poured into developing labyrinthine, multi-storied female heroes.

So Collins can go bleed up a tree and take her commercially exploitative films with her.

Hell no. I'm not interested in 95% of movies that have a female lead role.

@mink
No you think that was who I was talking about huh?! No but my point is that female action characters don't get a lot at a time because it's a limited market. So yeah Katniss is here, but you are right that Black Widow has a lot of history to create a really complex story. I personally would like a parallel story between her past as an assassin and her present as an agent, maybe even include her relationship to Winter Soldier to add some personal depth.

should Scarlett Johansson have a half frog-baby?

Nah

Im sure a half puerto rican baby would be more attractive

Half Puerto Rican is Puerto Rican. There's no such thing as "half cancer".

Racist Remark quota complete.

For the love of good NO!

I find her character boring as f*ck and wish she wasn't in "Avengers" then maybe the film would not have suck sweaty monkey balls.
