Sony Developing "Men in Black" and "Zorro" Reboots

Posted: March 10th, 2014 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Sony Developing "Men in Black" and "Zorro" RebootsSubmit Comment
Will Smith already said that he won't return for any more "Men in Black" installments, which is likely why Sony Pictures is planning a reboot. According to Deadline, the studio is still moving forward with the new film and has set a producing team to move things forward.

Meanwhile, Sony is also progressing with its reboot of the "Zorro" franchise by hiring Chris Boal (The Hurt Locker) to write the script. The plan is to make a film similar in style to "The Dark Knight" by creating a new backstory, gritty realism and an emotional core.

"Zorro" will have sword fighting, combined with the martial arts that came from Europe and created a deadly combination of swords, daggers, grappling and bare knuckles.

It's pointless to reboot Men In Black as I don't see who can top Tommy Lee Jones in terms of black sense of humour, the motionless face, etc.

I'm so sick and tired of this reboot/remake stuff. Absolutely rock bottom for Hollywood creativity. Hell, even most of those reboots turned out to be total crap.

What the hell is up with Sony??

Are they to sh*tty and poor to actually create/buy new film rights and instead just reboot what they already own.

My guess, they'll do 2 more Spiderman films and then reboot that in 2021.

Just to make things worse, I guarentee the Men In Black reboot will be 100x worse than the 2nd film.

Sony Pictures are controlled by a bunch of f*ckheads that need to find new jobs.

Exactly^

A Men in black reboot is f*cking dumb and nobody cares about zero anymore. How about all you folks at Sony just sit down in a room, maybe do a couple lines and create your own damned ideas

Sony really are the sh*t barrel scrapers of Hollywood aint they. ZERO f*ckS given in terms of credible films.

if they reboot men in black obviously nobody can top tommy lee jones...HOWEVER, i heard from somebody on here that instead of wearing glasses and erasing memories, they just flat out killed anybody that saw sh*t they weren't supposed to see

Good news and I'm optimistic they'll do somethng more with the properties.

Now if someone will reboot Ghostbusters like I keep asking, all would be well.
RickyGabrielBird writes:

Sony need the money, thus the possibility of this, pushing Ghostbusters 3 forward, milking Spider-Man, and anything else they can push out of the studio as quick as possible.
BlackDynamite writes:

Bet money they cast Michael B Jordan.

I personally hope both of these movies bomb.

Reboot news bores the hell out me so let's try something different.

I thought the first season of HBO'S True Detective was f*cking amazing. Since each season will star a whole new cast and a new case, who would you like to see cast next season. Would you like to see the show tackle more than murder cases? Is the show to dark or would you like them to go even further with the material?
SACdaddy writes:

Should they continue casting only A - listers like Woody and McConaughey or should go back to casting lower level character actors like they do with most of their other shows?
SACdaddy writes:

Lol I guess nobody on this site gives a sh*t about quality filmmaking and creative entertainment. Oh well back to reboot updates, superhero hype, and set photos of Dwayne Johnson's pecs.

Zzzzzzz....
minkowski writes:

^^If you want to talk at length about one show, your new favorite program, perhaps IMDb's True Detective forum would be a better fit.

Not like there's a lot of people here interested in deep conversation anyway, and you of all people should know that by now, Sac.

No offense.
