First Look at Grant Gustin in "The Flash" TV SeriesSubmit Comment
The CW just unveiled the first official photo of Grant Gustin as the title character in the upcoming "The Flash" TV series, based on the popular DC Comics character. The costume was designed by three-time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood, who also worked on the costume for "Arrow." Check out the photo below.

Gustin will star as Barry Allen in the series, which will serve as a spin-off to their popular series "Arrow" where he made two appearances as the superhero. Production on the pilot episode is set to begin next week.

Joining Gustin will be Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Iris's father Detective West, Michelle Harrison as Barry's mother Nora Allen, Rick Gosnett as Central City Police Detective Eddie Thawne, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Danielle Panabaker as S.T.A.R. Labs bioengineer Caitlin Snow, Tom Cavanagh as S.T.A.R. Labs CEO Harrison Wells, and John Wesley Shipp, from the original "The Flash" TV series, in an unspecified role.

Come to think of it, it will become a red version of Captain america's costume. Anyway, I'm more expecting of this one:

Zzzz.

The problem with DC is that have only a few primary characters, and pretty much the entire DC universe revolves around them, whereas Marvel has untold corners, various niches, well-populated by highly-evolved entities.

DC just doesn't have that. They have Flash, Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman. That's it. Maybe Green Arrow and Aquaman, but every other character is merely a minor supporting role for the big six.

Marvel is just better structured for a cinematic universe, and their empire is testament to the fact they not only possess a heavily diversified portfolio of characters, but they've balanced development of those characters across the gulf of comic book history, whereas DC has largely invested their creative energy into a handful of characters.

Long story short: DC, thanks to its inherent nature, is ill-equipped to battle Marvel head on, much less the triumvirate of Marvel-Sony-Fox, especially now that they've wasted their best possible hand: Nolan's Batman Trilogy.

Good luck, DC, which is a euphemism for "you're f*cked".

Best thing DC could do at this point is include the show's Flash in the Justice League movie, with perhaps a cameo or role in Arrow, and create a multiplatformed TV-Film cinematic universe similar to marvel.

I don't understand who is running things at Warner Bros, because it would take me 10 mins at most to come up with a successful way to mimic marvel's process
