First Look at Stephen King's "Cell," with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson

First Look at Stephen KingSubmit Comment
About a year ago, it was announced that John Cusack (1408) signed on to star in another Stephen King movie, called "Cell." Tod Williams (Paranormal Activity 2) was hired soon after to direct from a script by King and Adam Alleca (The Last House on the Left).

"Cell" has now started shooting and we have the first photo of Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson re-teaming after working together on "1408," another Stephen King adaptation. Check out the photo below.

Plot: When a powerful signal is broadcast across mobile networks worldwide, cell phone users' minds are instantly and dangerously re-programmed. Heading north through New England in search of his wife and son, Clay Riddell (Cusack) is joined by a group of survivors hoping to fend off the blood-thirsty and hyper-connected "phoners."

Can't wait for this. Love both actors and thought they did a great job with 1408. Love Stephen King, own every adaption of a book of his :D

jesus the plot sounds like a dream I had...

1408 was great, a favorite.

I'm also a big fan of 1408. For a pg-13 horror film it was pretty f*cked up. Scenes with Cusack and his daughter were pretty sadistic even for a haunted house film.

Cusack is always good in whatever he does and so is Jackson for the most part. King is on a roll adapting King material lately with 1408 and especially with The Mist. Hopefully Cell is just more of the same.

"Hwood" is on a roll.....

It's early folks.

The plot sounds like a mixture of The Happening (which was f*cking terrible) & Pulse (which was arguably worse) and John Cusack isn't going to sell me on anything ever. Even the fact that it's a Stephen King adaptation, which would've held some weight earlier in my life, does very little for me. My expectations for this really couldn't be any lower.

i'll give this a chance...can't be that bad...although i can say it might not be better than 1408, something about haunted stories that gets the audience riled up...specially if you have john cusack and samuel l. jackson

Btw just saw The Conjuring. Not bad at all. Kind of a modern day Poltergeist 2. Still think 1408 was better.

@Corn: Did you see The Mist?

1408 was terrible, we've seen this movie already and it was called The Mist, Sam Jackson sucks, Cusack sucks, and they're basically remaking every other killer cellphone movie ever made. Plus more f*cking zombies. Plus the premise sucks. Plus the book REALLY sucked.

Fail.

"Did you see The Mist?"

And? The Mist was directed by Darabont, the only guy alive who knows how to make good King films. Plus loads of creepy CGI and a shocking ending.

Besides, you can't say one King movie will work because another did. That's just stupid and ignorant, because two different equations are at work and thus will produce two very different results.

@Mink

Hooper did a badass job on the original Salem's Lot with Soul and Mason. Different as hell from the book but still a pretty sweet adaption for some made-for-tv sh*t.

@Electro: If what you say is true, I'm shocked as hell Hooper made even one decent film without Spielberg's hand down his pants.
