"Guardians of the Galaxy" Trailer is a Huge HitSubmit Comment
After debuting on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the trailer for Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" became a hot topic on social media networks, getting 88,000 mentions across Twitter, Facebook and various blogs in the first 12 hours.

By contrast, in the first 24 hours after releasing their trailers, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" received 96,000 mentions, while "Man of Steel" received 75,000 mentions. And unlike "Guardians of the Galaxy," both trailers were released during the day.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" features some bizarre characters, including Rocket Raccoon and a tree-like creature named Groot. Surprisingly both characters only added up to 4% of the total mentions. Instead, most of the conversation were about the actual movie.

In addition, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer brought in more than four million views on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" YouTube page.

Glad to see a talent like Gunn getting another shot at mainstream success. No pun intended.

It shows how powerful Marvel as a brand is becoming and how people are craving original material. Even two of the biggest superhero names don't get as much hype as this lot.

I've said it before and I will said it again, trailer can be very much deceiving.

I'm more intrigued about this and Antman than I am with any of the other Marvel films. I'm glad they're taking a bit of a risk.

^^Or both, because the "hacker" is probably Alex.

And I told you folks this one wouldn't be sh*t, like most of you claimed. Might help to start thinking before throwing out random negativity.

Well, a dude can dream, I guess...

I to have been shouting about this, everyone will keep saying its sh*t, then watch it and say how great it is. Chads right also, this has cultclasic written all over it. Plus a ready made replacement for Indy when they reboot it

When average folks try way too hard:

"As a blackly comic action movie, it is usually more obvious than absurdly inspired, while its father-daughter story is so tritely handled as to intermittently turn into the equivalent of a cheeseball Downy commercial."

That is one sh*tty critic. Guess noone told fat boy that in the 21st century anyone with net access is a critic.

Some people just aren't artists, and no amount of technical study of a craft can make them so.

This is very true.

Its funny, because I was one of the few who defended GoTG before the trailer came out, giving it a chance, and I was underwhelmed by the traier. I hope the next one they drop gives a little more depth into the scope of the film.

I also noticed that little dig at the WP commenters Alex put, about not many talking about Rocket and Groot, but actually focusing on the movie.

BTW, has anyone heard anything about that TMNT movie? isn't it supposed to come out in 5 months? there hasn't been one single trailer for it.
