"Indiana Jones 5" May Begin Pre-Production Before Christmas

"Indiana Jones 5" May Begin Pre-Production Before ChristmasSubmit Comment
It was recently reported that a full scale Millennium Falcon is being built at Pinewood Studios for the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII." Now comes word that the people hired to do the work have contracts that extend their stay for up to seven years to work on three new "Star Wars" films as well as three spin-offs.

Den of Geek looked into this and got its hands on a list of which stages at the studio are booked for which film. Several of the stages are obviously being taken up by "Star Wars," but one is listed for "Indiana Jones 5," stating that work will begin before Christmas.

This is far from a confirmation that "Indiana Jones 5" is happening, but since Disney is reserving space, it sure seems like plans for a new installment are being made. And since Disney acquired the franchise along with "Star Wars," it would make sense that work would take place in the same facility. Stay tuned.

MY advice...end the series with this film. No one likes LaDouche so to pass the legacy onto him would be stupid and offensive to fans. But I believe the series needs to end on a natural conclusion to Indy's journey. Not the cliche married ending but an ending that represents all the adventure, storytelling, imagination, and gusto of the series. Go out with a bang.

Marriage to Marion WAS the natural and near-perfect sentiment conclusion of Indy’s adventures. He’d already "rode off into the sunset" before then -- they gave him both endings respectively. No reason to try and top it.

This franchise has officially died when La Douche was on board.

Wouldn't mind seeing another one. But if they don't make another I could live with that as well

@Cannon
I suppose you're right. I just wish they could end his adventures overall better than the story from Crystal Skull. Like yeah I guess that was the right ending given his desire to always go onto the next adventure and that symbolized his adventures being over.

LOL Well done sir. Although you have to admit of all the older actors Ford still is kind of kick ass.

I love Indy but I still can't believe they planned to hand it over to le beef Spielberg and Lucas havnt made a good decision in a decade

On the surface it looks like harrison ford's deal, in turn for agreeing to come back for star wars disney would have another indy in preproduction by end of 2014, was actually true.

Good on him for still being able to have some pull in hollywood at his career stage. Only question now is whether speilberg and lucas are involved.

Last I heard george was nowhere near cracking a story with the right MACGUFFIN(ARC,grail, stones etc). Speilberg said he wont direct an indy lucas did not write. Ford has never gone on record saying he wouldnt return without them so he could still return.

So that might mean a totally different creative team story wise and directing. Dont know if I would want that. Could end up 10 times worse than crystal skull and I shutter at that thought.

On the other hand lucas could very well have cracked the story and its just not publicly known yet, and since harrison will be around anyway either filming star wars in an adjacent stage or filming reshoots or pickups might as well shoot indy while hes already there.

Lucas would also then I assume be on hand for any star wars advice needed, since even as only writer and producer he tends to be at every indy shoot every day, desert, rain no matter what.

Sounds like the most judicious use of time and money to me by disney. Hell they could even share stage hands and workers.

Man, hoe lucky is disney. They are gonna drive this marvel universe into the ground in a year or two, and then star wars will rise up and replace that as theyre go to money maker.

Its like the Indianapolis colts having peyton manning for 14 years and then having Andrew Luck fall right to them and go from one franchise quarterback to another one without skipping a beat

I have faith knowing Disney is doing the film since they know how to do big-budget adventure like no other studio.

Indy 5? Meh...unless they have a meaningful reason to bring Ford back...why? And if they don't tie it close to Ford...it'll just suck...hard.

What get my money would be a Ford playing Connery role. A last adventure on a reflexion to all his adventures and the one's off screen (a nod to the Atlantis adventure game would be pretty cool) is really what would bring fans back...can't think of anything else.

Besides, She-a is not really a money drawer...especially with his current crazy episodes. Why bring him back?

Maybe, just maybe... replace the crazy bastard and have an older, more established young actor (years pass, yes?) and have a return-to-roots action piece (old school)...a sincere farewell to Ford. A Rock Balboa-like closer if you will...

Action stars are a dime a dozen and this is Ford's vehicle. The holy Spielberg/Lucas/ Ford trinity really set the standard. But well, f*ck! Ford almost got paralyzed doing Doom...he f*cking deserves it, IMO.

C'mon would the series would actually been that good, if anyone else would've done it? Imagine original cast Tom Selleck as the original Indy?

...yeah, me neither.

Nah. Reboot the damned thing for a younger generation. I'll watch it as long as they don't Disney Club it.

Shia Ledoof is done with big hollywood productions so he would never come back for the next Indy movie anyways. All he does now is act like a f*cking plagiaristic Andy Kaufman-type irl troll.
