"Avengers: Age of Ultron" Started FilmingSubmit Comment
Independent Online, a South African newspaper, is reporting that "Avengers: Age of Ultron" started filming on Monday, February 10th, in Johannesburg. The plan is to continue filming in the region for two weeks and then move on to northern Italy and South Korea.

According to the paper, parts of Johannesburg's Albertina Sisulu Road was closed for filming between 7am and 7pm, and will remain closed during those hours all week. No word on what was being filmed.

"We are excited to host Marvel," said Johannesburg Mayor Parks Tausaid. "It strengthens Johannesburg's position as a worldwide film production center with first class facilities and production support. It also has a very positive impact for the region and is a great opportunity for the city to be showcased to a worldwide audience."

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is set to hit theaters on May 1st, 2015.

Good luck Whedon. I'm hoping for a great film here. South Africa though...that's random as hell though. Kind makes me excited where they are taking this.

Anything is more exciting than you Bullit. Some people enjoy films not based on c*nts and silly old faggots like Steve McQueen (Who was reported as a closet homosexual)

Not really. Quite a few films have been filmed in South Africa over the years, and it's Hollywood's way of bringing charity to failed black cities and nations. That's why Detroit is hot spot these days. It's also cheaper to film there then in, say, New York.

I wonder if filming in Africa means we might see a cameo or reference to Wakanda/Black Panther. Wakanda hasn't been mentioned since Iron Man 2, it'd be cool to see it get recognition in Avengers 2

Hopefully we will soon see a picture of the real Quicksilver, not that Bryan Singer sailor moon cosplay sh*t.
