Police Arrest Four Drug Dealers in Connection with Philip Seymour Hoffman's Death

Police Arrest Four Drug Dealers in Connection with Philip Seymour HoffmanSubmit Comment
After the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, police began their search for the drug dealers who sold the actor heroin. A confidential source ended up providing a tip that resulted in the arrest of four suspects, three of whom live in the same building as Hoffman.

They all face charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. But none of the suspects will be held liable for Hoffman's death, since New York courts have determined that drug dealers are not to blame.

According to one of the men arrested, Hoffman told him that he was ready to live a clean life and was looking for a way to kick his heroin habit.

Investigators also learned that Hoffman made six ATM transactions for a total of $1,200 inside a supermarket near his home the day before his death. Besides bank records, they also discovered buprenerphine, a drug used to treat heroin addiction, at Hoffman's apartment.

Since more than 50 small bags of heroin and over twenty used syringes, charred spoons, blood pressure drugs and a muscle relaxants were recovered from the actor's apartment, it's suspected that his death was due to an overdose. But officials will wait for the medical examiner's ruling to determine whether there is any criminality.

It turns out that part of the reason for Hoffman's death was his wealth. "Addicts with financial means will actually stockpile their drug," said addiction specialist Dr. Louis Baxter. "Someone who has developed tolerance, who is seeking to develop a high, may need to inject every two hours or so."

lol. Kill a celebrity with your drugs and you'll get hunted down posthaste.

Kill ordinary people? The cops shrug and head over to Taco Bell for a FourthMeal.

Whatever.

"But officials will wait for the medical examiner's ruling to determine whether there is any criminality."

What? Whose criminality? Hoffman's? Yeah, he's dead, and was caught with more drugs than Manuel Noriega. And? What are they going to do? Try a dead man? You already said the drug-dealers were arrested, but cannot be charged with Hoffman's death, so, again I ask, to whose unknown criminality are you referring?

I stick by mink's heroin squirrel theory regarding PSH. He had an intention of dying on his binge. I hate Lady Gaga but her lyrics for 'Teeth' exemplify what a desperate heroin addict is.

Lady Gaga exemplifies why someone would become a heroin addict to begin with...

Yeah justice is nuts. In Detroit you can sell drugs all day everyday. Kill a ton of people over it, ruin families etc. But hurt an animal.....go ahead....mistreat or abuse one animal and there's a manhunt and the abusers all over the news and paper.

Yeah, would have been nice if the police had arrested them BEFORE they sold Hoffman, and god knows who else, heroin...

How come the cops make a big deal and go after people that either were with or were close to when a celeb kills themselves with drugs. Almost like they want to blame others for the celeb's drug use and OD. Meanwhile, Somewhere in NY is another family who lost a loved one to heroin but they aren't getting the attention of this case. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for getting the dealers and the drugs off the street but good grief, is Hoffman is the only person that's recently O.D'd in that city?! I guess the powers that be only give a sh*t if you're some overblown celebrity. Just another example of how our 'effed up society and it's government selectively elevate the wrong people.

This Guy was an integral part of the culture creation machine. If he had been caught with his much before he died, it wouldn't have made the papers and he wouldn't have gone to jail. Different strokes for different folks
