"The Lego Movie" Sequel is Already in the WorksSubmit Comment
Even though Warner Bros' animated "The Lego Movie" won't hit theaters until this weekend (February 7th), the studio is already moving forward with a sequel, hiring Jared Stern (The Internship, Mr Popper's Penguins) and Michelle Morgan ("Girl Most Likely") to write the script.

The studio is confident it has a hit on its hands, with early predictions showing that "The Lego Movie" will open to at least $40 million at the domestic box office and go on to make as much as $150 million. It should early win the weekend, beating its competition "The Monuments Men" and "Vampire Academy."

"The Lego Movie" has another advantage going into the weekend, it has a 100% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes, with many critics stating that the movie is fun, fast-paced and well-written.

Studios no longer make sequels. Now, they just make the first installments to sequels that have already been greenlit.

Well at least we know Mink will be getting out of the house more often now.

Should have read: Lego Sequel already being put together...

I wasn't sure about the film at first but after seeing another trailer it does look like it has the right mix of young and old humour.

well it's a pretty simple formula...when you start using games/characters/stories from 90s and 80s and further back, you have potential money to be made from old and young audiences alike

Nice troll, troll, but I don't leave the house to go see movies. I haven't seen a film in theater since TDKR, and don't plan on seeing one any time soon. No reason.

Besides, LEGOs are good educational entertainment on a boring Sunday afternoon, if you can afford them, but they don't make for particularly exciting movies.
