Bryan Singer Says Rogue Will Appear in "X-Men: Days of Future Past"

Bryan Singer Says Rogue Will Appear in "X-Men: Days of Future Past"Submit Comment
About a month ago, director Bryan Singer revealed that he cut the Rogue character, played by Anna Paquin, completely out of "X-Men: Days of Future Past." But then Empire magazine unveiled 25 covers for its latest issue, featuring a different character from the movie. One of the covers went to Paquin.

In a new interview, Singer clarified that Rogue will still appear in "X-Men: Days of Future Past," but possibly just in the background. He said: "It does not mean that we won't see her in the film. Also, I hope to make the [deleted] sequence available on the DVD as she was quite wonderful in it. She is an important part of the X-Men family. I 'm very pleased she will remain as one of Empire's anniversary covers."

Regarding that deleted scene, writer Simon Kinberg explained why it's on the cutting room floor. "It was one real sequence in the movie," he said. "We felt like it was taking tension out of the main story drive."

Good! She had one of the more intense storylines in the first two with her unique isolation problems. Plus, if she eventually gets her powers we'd be set for some good action scenes.

Wow, what a great way to sell dvds (/sarc). Bryan Singer is a lowlife.

So she went from being an actress in the film to being an extra in the film.

Id bet its her crying in the background. Iceman didn't want her anymore and wolvie is being a loner again

@ sleuth1989...those action scenes would've have been great to see, with anna paquin in full rogue costume like how she takes down a sentinal in the intro of the 90s cartoon...however it's too late for that now and studios will never get it right...we should've seen that in x-men 2 or 3...now it's like forever flipping a middle finger at fans, and will flip a bigger middle finger when they cast someone young and emo to replace her

@ Avirex...that's sad...this is almost turning out worse than x-men 3...2 ensemble casts...if i was making the x-men films...i'd reboot it, and start with a huge cast bigger than mars attacks...so many characters in the x-men universe, i would like to see a peter jackson version...3 hours long and characters brought to the screen that 20th century fox and company would never dare try...nor would they have done it right for that matter

So the character they reduced to a background cameo gets an Empire magazine cover but will not actually appear in the film in any real capacity?

You're a esoteric genius, Singer.

I bet she shows up in a post credits scene, and Singer doesn't want to spoil it.

Either way, I doubt we'd ever see Rogue flying around with super strength, considering in the comics she got those powers from absorbing Ms. Marvel's powers.
