Marvel Announces "Thor 3," Hires WritersSubmit Comment
Marvel just announced that Craig Kyle, who is a Senior Vice President at Marvel Studios and the producer of both "Thor" films, has been hired along with his long-time collaborator Christopher Yost to write the script for "Thor 3." Yost co-wrote the screenplay for "Thor: The Dark World."

"I am proud of Craig and have enjoyed working with him over these past years," said Marvel head Kevin Feige. "His creative instincts have helped shape 'Thor' and 'Thor: The Dark World' at every level of the filmmaking process. The entire team at Marvel is very happy to continue collaborating with Craig as he continues as a screenwriter working with Christopher on the forthcoming chapter of Thor's adventure."

The first "Thor" film hit theaters back in 2011 and went on to gross $449 million globally on a budget of $150 million. The sequel was released two years later, earning $633 million on a budget of $170 million, becoming the third highest-grossing Marvel film, behind "The Avengers" and "Iron Man 3."

Somehow I knew this is happening after Thor 2's ending. That movie better have more screen time of Darcy's boobs

Shocking!

Still can't believe a second tier marvel character like Thor ever became so popular.

Thor 2 wasn't bad, I'll see a 3 rd.

And yet still no sequel to Howard the Duck.

"Still can't believe a second tier marvel character like Thor ever became so popular."

What?

Marvel doesn't have the rights to most of their first- tier characters, like Spiderman and the X-Men, so of course they'd have to make successes out of "second-tier" material...

2 was better than 1
CA2 looks like its gonna be better than 1(although i liked CA more than i thought i would)

both are getting thirds

and DC is still trying to stuff 50pounds of feces into a 10pound bag

Yeah, but in DC's defense, that bag has a big hole at the bottom...

@mink. I KNOW!!! But George lucas is semi retired now, so unless he were to sign off creative control we proly never will see howard again.

IT would be interesting to see a sequel using todays technology. I dint think they would use the old practical makeup and effects. Also it would probably be a reboot...

On topic now, thor is completely uninteresting to me. In my opinion they should just make a movie from loki's point of view with thor as a secondary rival/enemy character.
minkowski writes:

Off topic now. Has anyone read The Hateful Eight? Reading it now and I have to wonder if QT really thinks people talk the way he wrote them. I feel like I'm reading some kind of spaghetti western parody and not anything remotely approaching historically-faithful cinema...

I used to look forward to these marvel movies way in advance, but I'm getting tired of them.

I used to look forward to jacking off but the payoff never changed.

Pretty much the same thing here, without the orgasm.

Chris Yost is a decent chap. My wife went to school with him. I'm not much of a fan of the Thor movies, though...

would be interesting to see loki morph into other characters aside from captain america..although i'm sure that's a spoiler soon to be, then again, how would it be s spoiler if it is already in the comics?

Thor will never be good because the character itself is boring and Hemsworth is a terrible, terrible actor.
Deaft0ne writes:

I liked the first 2 Thor movies and look forward to a 3rd one. Also Chris Hemsworth is not a terrible actor. He has done a good job in all his films. Rush was a good performance.

Opinions are like ass holes, everyones got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

I haven't seen Rush but every other film I've seen Hemsworth in I haven't personally considered him a good actor, he hasn't entertained me as an actor, he hasn't given me the emotional attachment to the characters he plays that is required of a good actor. But considering that thinking an actor is good or bad is subjective you can't tell me he's not a terrible actor, only that you think he's good.

Plus, he's neither good or bad until he's observed, but at that point the test results have been tainted by us the observer. In conclusion Chris Hemsworth is a paradox.

Didn't see the 2nd, kinda doubt I'll see the 3rd.
