Josh Gad in Talks to Play The Thing in "Fantastic Four" Reboot?

Josh Gad in Talks to Play The Thing in "Fantastic Four" Reboot?Submit Comment
There has been lots of casting news regarding the upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot. Michael B. Jordan (Chronicle) will likely play Johnny Storm, while several actors are up for the roles of Reed Richards and Sue Storm. But none of the news stories ever mentioned anything about Ben Grimm/The Thing.

There's a good chance that The Thing will be CG character in the movie, but you still need an actor to voice him and potentially wear the motion-capture suit. According to Movies.com that actor will be Josh Gad, who recently starred in "JOBS" and has previously voiced characters in "Frozen" and "Ice Age: Continental Drift."

Gad's casting has yet to be confirmed by 20th Century Fox, but Movies.com says that this rumor comes from people who are close to the project.

"Fantastic Four" will be directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle) and is set to hit theaters on June 19th, 2015.

He was in a very sh*tty comedy called The Internship... and he was one of the characters I hated the most.

so the old fantastic four used orange foam and no cg animation on the thing...yet the new one, we get a cg animated version of the thing, and still looks like foam...all while making it look like the fantastic four just graduated high school or is still in high school...would be interesting to see what chris evans has to say about this remake

Why not use the actor who plays Hank in Breaking Bad? He would be much more suited to the role...

Greeeeaaaaaat.

I hope some inexplicable event delays this project indefinitely. Like a meteor hitting the set.

@Biz Malarkey he wasn't in Project X... he just looks like jb from the movie.

It's a real shame, not that I was ever a FF fan, but I would enjoy seeing a campy, not-too-nolanesque adaptation of the comic. As I've said before, 3 movies in and they still can't get it right. f*ck this and all comic book films currently in production, with the exception of Whedon's Avengers sequel and maybe Wright's Antman.

Human torch banging thing, tastefully illustrated by Rob Liefield.

who gives a sh*t

Trank/Fox's plot already f*cked this movie off with their 'artistic interpretation' of this established 54 year old comic book francise

f*ck this movie in the ear
f*ckit in the other ear

@leperkon

Not a bad idea!

But he does kinda look like Michael Chiklis, plus they are both from a popular tv series, Chiklis wasnt horrible as Thing but the movies sucked, so i understand they would be going a diffrent route on this one.

My advice would be dont take any route at all and leave this franchise alone.
Its not gonna work.......

He looks like a fatty version of what you'd get if you threw Seth McFarlane and JJ Abrams into Seth Brundle's teleporter and hit the start button.

It's funny, because by the time Alex reported this rumor it had already been disavowed by Gad.
