How Much Did Jonah Hill Earn for "The Wolf of Wall Street"?

How Much Did Jonah Hill Earn for "The Wolf of Wall Street"?Submit Comment
While Leonardo DiCaprio earned as much as $10 million to star in Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street," Jonah Hill admitted that he had to take a significant pay-cut to take a supporting role in the film.

Speaking to Howard Stern, Hill revealed that despite already being an Oscar-nominated actor, he still had to fight for the role. In fact, he ended up agreeing to take $60,000 to participate in a seven month shoot. That works out to roughly $8,600 per month, a salary not often associated with Hollywood actors, who can earn millions of dollars for just days of work.

But the opportunity was too great to pass up. Not only is Hill becoming a more serious actor, but he just earned a second Oscar nomination for his performance in "Wolf of Wall Street."

The fat bastard should've gone on a diet at that price!

That's a reasonable salary, 99% of hollywood should be making that amount. I can't wait for graphics tech to reach the point where completely artificial actors can be created and emulate human emotions better than these narcissistic hollywood f*cks.

I don't understand why myriads upon myriads of people think Hill is an arse.

I dig Jonah as a serious actor. I hope he has a lot more roles like this.

@Daft f*ck - You're the only one here who's insinuated that he is an arse. Tanman thinks he's a good guy; I think he's a great guy! The only person I've ever seen who hasn't liked him was Jay Baruchel haha.

Won't be graphics techs, Stapes. It'll be programmers who learn how to emulate emotions within algorithms and feed those into a 3D model.

In fact, many people within the industry think industry artistry will eventually disappear, replaced by procedural software models created by programmers.

How Much Did Jonah Hill Eat for "The Wolf of Wall Street"?

^^What I thought it said.

Anyway, Hill takes a pay cut to make a much larger name for himself, ensuring much better pay and projects in the future, and you people think he did it for the poor and working man, because he was expressing solidarity with the average Joe?

You folks just ain't too damned bright.

Deadmau5 makes at least 100k+ for a 2hr set. His Las Vegas sets are less than half a mil.
I was invited to a Smirnoff private party years ago, where he was the special guest DJ. He was paid 90k for one hour & played to less than 100 hundred people. That was the last gig he played ever with a 5-digit quote. Put that in perspective.
