Zoe Saldana to Star in "Rosemary's Baby" TV Series

Posted: January 9th, 2014 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Zoe Saldana to Star in "RosemarySubmit Comment
Zoe Saldana (Star Trek, Avatar) has been cast in NBC's four-hour "Rosemary's Baby" mini-series, an adaptation of the 1967 best-selling suspense novel by Ira Levin that rapist Roman Polanski turned into a movie in 1968.

Saldana will play Rosemary, a young wife and would-be mother who, with her husband, moves into a Paris apartment that has a dark past. After finally getting pregnant, she becomes increasingly suspicious that both her husband and their mysterious neighbors have ulterior motives about the future of her child.

"Zoe has proven that she is one of our most gifted actresses and we think she has the perfect combination of spirit and gravitas to take on the title role from Ira Levin's infamous novel," said NBC. "With Zoe leading the cast under the direction of Agnieszka Holland (Copying Beethoven), this reimagined mini-series is off to a great start."

Production is set to begin shortly in Paris, where the story is set.

Ugh...another remake of the classics. When they remake classics, or even cult classics, they can only do worse. How hard is that to understand? Btw, Mia Farrow's play in the original was outstanding. Try to top that would be close to impossible.

"rapist Polanski...?"

That brings up a good point...I've always been curious how big name actors/actresses work with this type of guys with criminal pasts...

--"Hey Christoph Waltz, wanna be in my movie?"
--"Wait. Aren't you the famous director that raped that 13 year old in a photo shoot? Convicted but escaped?"
--"Yup. Wanna work with me?"
--"Suuuuure". WTF?

Having said that...anybody read Polanski's bio on Wiki?

And I thought f*cking SCHINDLER'S LIST was depressing...that guy's childhood was horrendous!! Mother killed in Nazi concentration camps, being passed around from family to family...for a price. Pretending he was Catholic until his money ran out, being kicked out, living on the street, being beaten almost to death ( has a metal plate) in his head...all around his grade school/ middle school age...

Getting older still being able to find how to make movies & winning awards internationally with movies in different languages!!

Then meeting the love of his life with Sharon Tate, to be one of several victims in the Charles Manson Murders being stabbed while she was 8 months pregnant!! That's not even counting the media sh*tstorm printing the pictures of the murders on all the sensationalist newspapers at the time!!

How the f*ck does that happen?!

like the actress, hate the idea of this tv series...better just do an independent film if you can't make it mainstream...devil's due is gonna be out soon, that's pretty much a remake in itself already

I wonder when will they get the courage to say: ok, it's time. We're remaking Gone with the Wind.
