Dwayne Johnson is Top-Grossing Actor of 2013Submit Comment
According to Forbes magazine, Dwayne Johnson is the top-grossing actor of 2013 in terms of how much his movies earned, not his salary.

Thanks to "Fast and Furious 6," "GI Joe: Retaliation" and "Pain and Gain," the actor's films earned a total of $1.3 billion, just beating Robert Downey Jr, who brought it in $1.2 billion with "Iron Man 3."

The highest-grossing actress is Sandra Bullock, who starred in "Gravity" and "The Heat," earning a total of $862 million. That was good enough to take fifth place on the list.

Paul Walker also made the list in sixth place, mostly for "Fast and Furious 6," which is the biggest hit of his career.

1. Dwayne Johnson - $1.3 billion

2. Robert Downey Jr. - $1.2 billion

3. Steve Carell - $964 million

4. Vin Diesel - $887 million

5. Sandra Bullock - $862 million

6. Paul Walker - $789 million

7. Billy Crystal - $743 million

7. John Goodman - $743 million

9. Chris Hemsworth - $701 million

10. Jennifer Lawrence - $700 million

The rock plays the same character in every movie
Yawwwwwwnn

At least rdj earns his paycheck

He's an action star Bando, that's kinda what they do. Ever seen a Cruise, Stallone, Arnold, Jet Li, or Jackie Chan movie before?

Billy Crystal? Did CITY SLICKERS 3 come out and I didn't hear about it? wtf

Never thought I'd see the Rock at atop that list.

Sac daddy is sad if you like the rocks movies with the exception of fast five.

Jason statham is 100x better

Keep making Dwayne rich though.im sure he's got you on his Christmas list

Cruises movies are far more entertaining

This list is depressing...
boogiel writes:

Let me get this straight. The Rock outdid RDJ because four movies he was in did better collectively than Iron Man 3? There's just something off on this logic here.
shiteater writes:

It's a total grossing of their movies, says so right in the article. If you want another list, go compile it yourself.
shiteater writes:

Bandalero you dumb f*ck, he simply said that action movie actors often play the same style of characters in their movies, which isn't wrong.
SACdaddy writes:

Ahhh when did I say that I liked a lot of Rock movies? And What makes Statham any different than the Rock. Sure he started out as a decent actor but since the Transporter he's played nearly identical part in every film.

Sometimes I think you only hear what you want to hear. Drop the filter and join the rest of us here in the real world...jabroni :)

BTW really only liked the Rock in the Rundown and Fast Five. Never saw Pain and Gain but I heard that might be his best performance.

Only liked Statham in Lock Stock and Snatch. He's a great fighter (if you like that white kung fu sh*t) but his action films are mediocre at best.

Hope this clarifies things for you.
minkowski writes:

I agree with Bando that in terms of quality, RDJ rocks it and wins, but Johnson puts out more "bigger" films.

RDJ has Iron Man every three years or so, and Johnson does a few action flicks a year.

Just can't beat that sh*t, which is why Sam Jackson and Morgan Freeman often top the charts for money earned, not because they're highly talented (Freeman, perhaps) but because they're two of only three go-to dependably-token black actors.

Hollywood is type-driven, not character or plot-driven. Huge difference, folks.
Deaft0ne writes:

Bando is a moron and has a personal hatred for Dwayne Johnson that he refuses to explain. Don't listen to him.
minkowski writes:
on December 17th, 2013 at 8:49:45 PM

Why does he hate Dwayne Johnson? Because Johnson's tall, physically-impressive and successful?
Deaft0ne writes:

Most likely mink. Bando looks like a bitch.

"He's a great fighter (if you like that white kung fu sh*t)"

Do you apply racism to everything Sac? Because I've never heard of "white kung fu". Is there a "black kung fu" too? Is it better than its white brethren? How are either better or worse than just plain kung fu, or do you call that one "yellow kung fu"?

You make me laugh, man.
minkowski writes:
on December 17th, 2013 at 9:06:15 PM

I looked it up...apparently Statham is well-versed in Wing Chun kung fu and karate.
minkowski writes:
on December 17th, 2013 at 9:19:39 PM

@Deaftone: Apparently Bando's name is David Eduardo, but he doesn't look like a David at all.
PORN-FLY writes:

Im well versed in that as well

its very catchy and upbeat
Deaft0ne writes:
on December 17th, 2013 at 9:48:30 PM

@mink

I don't hate The Rock at all. I feel like he parlayed his wrestling career into an acting one quite succesfully. He said he turned down some other roles to do Faster and Snitch because he liked the scripts for being "untypical".

So he's not a moron and he seems to care about the action film aesthetic at least.

The Rock's success is why now you're seeing more wrestlers in direct-to-video movies...

Randy Orton in 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded.

Some guy named "The Miz" in The Marine 3: Homefront

Kennedy...Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia

Triple H...in The Chaperone, Blade:Trinity, and Inside Out.

Batista...apart from the Guardians of the Galaxy, Ridd*ck, The Man with the Iron Fists, House of the Rising Sun,The Scorpion King 3, Wrong Side of Town, and suprisingly with Michael Shannon on a Herzog movie My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done?...

Stone Cold...when a sh*tloads.

You'll be surprised where you seen them...I saw wrestling legend Terry Funk in Roadhouse and Stallone's Paradise Alley as well.

McMahon really uses his his boys to match The Rock-type money...He makes them superstars to pimp them out as action stars...lame, but smart move. He knows the money is in Hollywood.
Wallace writes:

Bruce Willis should be No. 6

GI Joe: 375
Die Hard 5: 300
Red 2: 142

So his movies made 817 Mio. in total...
