Emilia Clarke is Sarah Connor in "Terminator" RebootSubmit Comment
Emilia Clarke ("Game of Thrones") has been rumored to play Sarah Connor in the upcoming "Terminator" reboot for about a week. And now comes word that the actress has officially received the role.

Clarke will star opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger, who will reprise his role from the first three films, and Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), who will play Sarah Connor's son, John Connor.

Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) is directing. The new film is set to hit theaters on July 2nd, 2015.

I'm sorry. Is there some new unwritten rule where every woman has to look like borderline jailbait? LOL

^^ Add to that, is there a rule that they HAVE TO reuse the same character?!

What? They're no more characters in that world?! SALVATION at least attempted to do that...it failed with the uneven plot and slow pace, but not the characters...

Ever since learning Seth MacFarlame tapped that I've never looked at her the same way again.

Look for Alan Taylor to cast more of his GAME OF THRONES cast.

Peter Dinklage will play the T-1/4

Pffft. Thought that last r was a p, which would have had my attention then and only then.

@mink
Probably more accurate with pole though. I just don't see her winning the role on talent. LOL Although, weird observation, she kind of looks a little like Linda Hamilton in the face. Very little but I see a couple similar features.

@CelluloidMan
Yes that is a new rule apparently. Seeing as audience members don't want new or exciting. They want dull and dark.
minkowski writes:

Dull and dark? And who do you think is responsible for that one?
Sleuth1989 writes:

@mink
Both the audience for seeing those movies and Hollywood for not encouraging a more vibrant setting.

So when are they rebooting The Godfather? I guess nothing is off limits.
Sleuth1989 writes:

@mpiper821
I would love to see them try and reboot the Godfather with the level of bullsh*t talent they have nowadays to fill that cast.

@Sleuth

I am personally on the fence over a Terminator reboot. Maybe I seem overly nostalgic but only the first 2 films touched greatness.

A reboot is just spinning rusty wheels.
Sleuth1989 writes:

@Deaft0ne
The first two are legendary and the third one was okay. The fourth one could have been great but became a good cult film I guess. The only film Worthington tried to act in and actually succeeded in some regard. The cast for this isn't horrible but this girl is too damn young although teen pregnancy isn't far off a concept these days and they would do that to be ducking tasteless but call it artsy. Strangely I feel confident that Arnold is back. He really is the heart of the franchise, whatever that would mean in a story about a robot. LOL

@Sleuth

I still maintain that Ahnuld is the weathered human that the T-800 is based upon.
Sleuth1989 writes:

@Deaft0ne
Possibly or both. If you think about it, the young model they made of him in Terminator: Salvation was actually pretty impressive. He could potentially do it. I mean he's a machine. He should look a little polished over anyway so using that digital youth serum might work.
