Director Peter Berg Talks "The Rundown 2" and "Friday Night Lights"Submit Comment
While promoting "Lone Survivor," director Peter Berg (Hancock, Battleship) spoke about a potential sequel to "The Rundown" and a big screen adaptation of his "Friday Night Lights" TV series that would follow Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) and Tami Taylor (Connie Britton).

Regarding "The Rundown 2," Berg said: "We just met with writers, so we're trying to do it. I've talked to Dwayne. I have an actor in mind that I can't say that I want to work with Dwayne on it."

Regarding "Friday Night Lights," he said: "There's not gonna be a movie. We talked about it, some people thought it was a good idea, some didn't; I've come to believe it's probably not a good idea and I seriously doubt it's gonna happen."

Always liked the original. Its the Rock's second best movie IMO though I haven't seen pain and gain yet.

Peter Berg, the more retarded Michael Bay.
PORN-FLY writes:

i would say Berg is more slow than retarded

he could have built a francise out of The Rundown ten years ago

@Pornfly: no he couldn't have because the piece of sh*t made only 80 million worldwide on a 85 mil budget.

He's an IDIOT.

X-Files is DONE. Unless David and Gillian are willing to put up ten mil or work for free, FOX isn't going there. They didn't really want to go there with the second film, as you can tell from the lazy production values which made that film look more like a lost episode from the fifth or sixth season.

As they say in Mexico...no mas!

I don't remember the Rundown being all that spectacular. Walking Tall definitely one of Rock's best films, (even though he only has two good ones, that and Pain and Gain)
minkowski writes:

The Rundown is entirely forgettable schlock for people with zero taste in action films, the same people who sado-masochistically slam their d*ck in a closet door every time they hear Christopher Walken's name because they've endowed the old wheezing prick with godlike qualities he neither deserves or has earned.

Peter Berg needs to die. He needs to throw himself off a high bridge and the universe needs to throw Tony Scott back.

The man hasn't made anything but utter sh*t in his ugly third-tiered career.

Battleship? Transformers without the Transformers.

Hanc*ck? Angry drunk black guy learns to not suck while the movie doesn't do similarly.

The Kingdom? Dusty camel jockeys blow up some sh*t and America responds. Zzzzz.

Friday Night Lights? Prime-time Varsity Blues for Americans who can never get tired of big, ugly men repeatedly beating their selves into retardation and physical disability.

Very Bad Things? A movie whose title precognitively represents Peter Berg's career.

The only funny part of the rundown was the fish that swim up your c*ck part. In Australia the movie is Titled Welcome To The Jungle.

But does not warrant a sequel. If you want to do anything Bergoid, make a sequel to Shocker or reboot it.
BlackDynamite writes:

@Minkowski: Hancok wouldn't have sucked if they kept the mood from the beginning throughout the whole film, with him being a total *sshole who only saves people out of "necessity" not really caring for them or not, and with a total scrap of the weird interacial incest subplot.

WTH does this mean? "I have an actor in mind that I can't say that I want to work with Dwayne on it."
minkowski writes:
on December 10th, 2013 at 6:48:43 PM

^^It means he has an actor in mind who will work with/opposite Dwayne but Berg cannot name that actor at this juncture in time.
