Another "X-Men" Film Announced, Gets Title and Release DateSubmit Comment
"X-Men: Days of Future Past" director Bryan Singer has revealed that the title of the next "X-Men" movie will be "X-Men: Apocalypse" and will hit theaters on May 27th, 2016.

The character Apocalypse is the world's first mutant. He was born in Egypt around 3,000 BC and used advanced technology to make himself an eternal conqueror, believing in survival of the fittest.

His most popular storyline, "The Age of Apocalypse," ran in the "X-Men" books beginning in 1995. Set in a parallel reality, "The Age of Apocalypse" saw Professor Charles Xavier murdered before he could form the X-Men. Instead, a very different take on the team began with Magneto leading them through a post-apocalyptic America ruled by mutants.

Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox hired Simon Kinberg to help expand both the "X-Men" and the "Fantastic Four" properties. "I have a lot of ideas on how to built those brands and do what everybody is thinking of these days: Be like Marvel," explained Kinberg. "I want to be able to build stories over multiple movies."

Kinberg is the producer of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and "Star Wars: Episode VII," but he's also currently busy writing a "Star Wars" spin-off.

Whoa, quite surprising move there from Fox, right before Dc's Darkseid and Marvel's Thanos. Who's next? Godzilla?

Lets see how the first one goes before you make any other commitments Singer, you've got a lot of making up to do...

Stop f*cking around and just sell it to Marvel. Nobody cares about Fox/Singers interpretation anymore.

That trailer for Days of Future Past was about as compelling as a phone book.

Hopefully it'll be the last xmen movie until they decide to reboot it.

Yeah, they need to sell this and Fantastic Four right the f*ck back to Marvel, and Sony needs to sell Spiderman back to them as well.

Of course, that would happen if you people would stop paying to see FOX and Sony's films.

i said it before, i'll say it again...by the time they decide to add apocalypse and mr. sinister, will be portrayed wrong...nothing tops the 90s cartoon...first of its kind and yet still modern enough...you can literally watch it and imagine for yourself a live action version of it with the cast of the first trilogy without waiting for studios spending millions of dollars still getting it wrong, at least up until when and if they finally get it right which is usually never
minkowski writes:
on December 6th, 2013 at 12:46:18 PM

Yeah, the Fassbender-Nazi angle was folded into First Class from the unproduced Magneto: Origins script, which was pretty good.

Or Batman&Superman's DP Adventures
minkowski writes:
on December 6th, 2013 at 1:24:09 PM

haha...but seriously, what's stopping them from throwing in GL at this point?
Deaft0ne writes:
on December 6th, 2013 at 1:37:41 PM

Yeah I mean they should not ignore the previous GL movie. I thought that Ryan Reynolds was solid as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern and Mark Strong was a perfect Sinestro.

It's the devouring sh*t-cloud story that sucked.
minkowski writes:
on December 6th, 2013 at 1:42:44 PM

Yeah we make fun of the film because it performed so poorly, but you're right: Strong as Sinestro was perfect and Reynolds as Hal was almost not bad, better than most of his other gigs.

I also thought the CGI wasn't nearly as poor as people claimed.

Could have used a far better villain and could have used a more memorable plot. Just not a very strong film in terms of antagonist and story.

Dunno. Woke up with Bart Simpson and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in my head for some reason, and yesterday I was singing the theme song to the Golden Girls.
PORN-FLY writes:

thanks for sayin that, DEAF
GL also needed a way f*ckin better score and a good superhero inspired song

back in the late 80s early 90s,a big deal used to made about who was doin what song for which movie
Transformers had it right in that respect
but those Batman songs made more than the crappy sequels did

RR was a perfect fit for college comedies but now he's made for superhero films and corny romcoms

is it so hard to just fix what was wrong with GL and go ahead with a sequel?

*ahem*
i actually liked Green Lantern better than POS
i mean MOS
minkowski writes:

Movie soundtracks like that found in the original Transformers movie are unheard of these days, and haven't been seen in probably two decades.

Most of what they use now is over-commercialized Han Zimmer-esque garbage, going so far as to recycle some of his earlier tunes instead of paying the mindless hack to make newer ones.

They don't even go for someone like John Williams, and if your approach is anything like his, you won't find work.

In fact, if you're an aspiring soundtrack artist, you had better start beefing up your dark, gritty, bland track-mising repertoire because that's the only way you have a chance in the industry.
minkowski writes:

*mixing.
minkowski writes:
on December 6th, 2013 at 3:37:53 PM

f*ck Man of Steel.

Even with all the other awful Superman films, they still had a sense of FUN, which is sorely missing from Snyder's loud, ugly, stultifying movie miasma.
PORN-FLY writes:
on December 6th, 2013 at 3:41:56 PM

spot on about the use of Zimmer!
Im discovering more music by him in movies that i rewatch

that resume of his is impressive
but the well has gone dry

when another Bodyguard(type)soundtrack happens the pendulum will swing the other way and we'll get inspiring Superman themes etc.

f*ck you MOS
i was so hyped for that movie, man
they sucked all the fun out of it

Marvel movies dont have a theme or hit songs
but for the most part(thor),the plots are more put together

even Raimi's Spiderman had that awful Nickelback(?) song but it worked

idk, i just think that with better music
you'll get lifelong fans out of the kids

Superman:The Motion Picture should be the gold standard
i almost broke my neck tryin to fly with my beach towel when ever that movie was on HBO

today, you can barely identify one movie score from another in a lineup
PORN-FLY writes:
on December 6th, 2013 at 3:44:15 PM

*(not thor)*
that movie was just rushed and force fed to the masses
minkowski writes:
on December 6th, 2013 at 3:52:36 PM

Tron Legacy, Drive and Fight Club all had decent soundtracks that bucked the ugly Zimmer/Jablonsky mold, and I think O Brother Where Art Thou was well done even though it's not my flavor of Kool-Aid.

Might even throw in The Departed and Boogie Nights, but those aren't exactly original soundtracks.
greenfreak69 writes:
on December 6th, 2013 at 3:58:09 PM

I guess that John-Williams-style symphonic scores (as opposed to Zimmer-style minimalist scores) simply have no place in the typical cinematic "entertainment" that Hollywood routinely sh*ts out nowadays... all those quick-moving, fast-paced, quickly-edited, ultimately brainless flicks that the masses eat up like so much junk food

Deaft0ne writes:
on December 6th, 2013 at 4:01:43 PM

@pornfly

Yeah and parts of GL were fun too. I don't hate the film and I snagged just the basic DVD from Target a while ago for $8 and I have watched it a few times since seeing it in the theater.

@mink

Scorsese's almost alchemic ability to pick the perfect song for a scene in his films is always fascinating. Paul Thomas Anderson emulated that fairly well for Boogie Nights.

"apparently you havent fought a black zombie who has been wrongly incarcerated in a South African prison for 27years by murdering rascists"

You REALLY need to read about the real Mandela, not the hagiographically sanitized version stupid white people propagate.

http://americanfreepress.net/?p=11873

Fact is, Mandela wasn't put in prison for "murdering racists", but for playing an integral part in an organization that murdered people "on the street", unless you think just being white in apartheid South Africa was a crime deserving immediate execution, which is just f*cking absurd, considering even Mandela didn't get death, which would mean "racism" is worse than murder.

You get me, bro?

"Shortly thereafter, Mandela and Slovo, along with a group of ANC leaders, were filmed chanting a pledge to kill all whites in South Africa."

Pictured...a bunch of white-hating Jews.
