Roadside Attractions just unveiled the trailer for the upcoming "Gimme Shelter" indie drama, starring Vanessa Hudgens, Rosario Dawson, Brendan Fraser, James Earl Jones, Ann Dowd and Dascha Polanco. Check it out below.

Plot: Based on a true story that centers on 16-year-old Agnes "Apple" Bailey (Hudgens), "Gimme Shelter" uncovers the struggle for survival and the hope of redemption through the harsh realities of life on the streets. As a pregnant teenager, Apple's journey plummets her into a perilous struggle until finding salvation in a suburban shelter for homeless teens. With provisions of unprecedented comfort, a collective sisterhood connection and female empowerment, the shelter elevates Apple to break the shackles of her past and inspires her to embrace the future with clarity, maturity and hope not only for herself but her unborn child.

The new movie is directed by Ron Krauss and is set to hit theaters on January 24th, 2014.

the sad thing is, only old lesbians will watch this
while the intended audience of preteens will be camping out for The Anti Horny Games

not preteens
just plain teens

Hudgens doesn't look like she was ready for this role, IMO.

a movie where Dawson/Hutchins make James Earl Jones a sammich while chained to the kitchen would be more Hutchin's speed

I must be getting old as hell, because I not only do not know who Vanessa Hudgens is, I actually confused her with Luther Vandross.

....so basically Diablo Cody's life story. Gotcha.

I like how this movie makes the lead character look like Ulysses on his journey instead of a stupid teen slut struggling to care for her unborn bastard child.

What's next? Making heroes out of rapists? Or was that the Clinton years?

Apple. lol. Was she the "bad seed" in her family, or is the "seed" the one inside her uterus?

I like how the title is both illiterate and demanding. Gimme shelter. Not take shelter, or may I have shelter, please, but gimme shelter, like she f*cking deserves it.

Or maybe it's a riff on the Rolling Stones song of the same title, which I can understand. One wonders if "Apple" suffers a miscarriage as Merry Clayton did right after recording the aforementioned song.
