Trailer for "Tar," with James Franco, Jessica Chastain and Mila KunisSubmit Comment
James Franco just unveiled the trailer for "Tar," which is based on the life and work of poet CK Williams and stars Franco, Jessica Chastain, Mila Kunis, Zach Braff and Bruce Campbell. Check it out below.

Plot: CK (Franco) and his wife Catherine (Kunis) are married with their son Jed. CK prepares for a reading of "Tar" in New York City, and spends his nights struggling to write new poems, haunted by memories of his past. As CK drives to his reading in New York City, he remembers central moments of his life: we come to experience and understand both his relationship to love and loss, and how he found his calling as a poet through the women in his life.

The movie is directed by twelve new directors from NYU. A release date has yet to be set.

James Franco needs to stop making so many movies, especially literary adaptations or artist biopics. Nobody has any interest.

This is the kind of movie made for actors that only actors want to see. And can we please stop with the pseudo-Malick camerawork? It's even cliche when Malick himself does it.

Also, don't cast Zack Braff in anything when attempting to be "serious" and "profound".

If Bruce Campbell was higher in that cast list I'd be all over it.

James Franco is kinda disturbing, his face in general, punchable yet you would be worried about catching HIV from the blow.

Is this a sequel to Mud? And is Dirt next? What about Dust? Or Rain? Sand? sh*t?

Screaming originality there, Hollywood.
