First "Warcraft" Concept Art and Story Details RevealedSubmit Comment
During Blizzcon 2013 on Saturday, director Duncan Jones (Source Code, Moon), presented the first concept art from his upcoming "Warcraft" movie, which is based on the popular video game. We now have photos of that art, showing Draenor, Dalaran, Ironforge and Stormwind. Check everything out below.

The story centers on Anduin Lothar versus Durotan, Human and Orc heroes from the games. The film will take place largely in the Eastern Kingdoms of Azeroth. When Jones signed on, "Warcraft" favored humans, but the script has since been changed to make audiences feel for the Orc heroes as well as the human ones.

Special effects expert Bill Westenhoffer compared the tone of the film to "Gladiator," adding: "The swords that are being built are the biggest swords a human being can wield."

"Warcraft" is set to hit theaters on December 18th, 2015. Colin Farrell, Paul Patton and Travis Fimmel are rumored to star in the movie.

If Disney keeps the Dec.18th release date for STAR WARS, then there is no f*cking way that this film will release on the same date. They're both competing for the same audience, and I think we all know who's going to win. I expect this will be pushed to summer 2016.

Colin Ferrell? Even Colin Ferrell thinks that's a bad idea. And, yeah, like Cress said, no way hell will they open this opposite Star Wars. Though, I suspect the latter itself will jump again to May 2016. That's just me.

lol. Warcraft with the guy who makes Wahlberg look like Jimmy Stewart, opposite Star Wars 7.

Guess the Blizzard guys aren't up to date on what Disney is doing, or else Alex is "con-fusing" new news with old news.

Hey Mink play nice ok,...Alex can't help that he is a moron.

His parents could though ;)...ouch.

@mink
Jones is basically hanging himself if he goes by this release date. So perhaps it is better to say "Confusing new noose with old noose." LOL

@Sleuth: lol. I think old Alex just pinned up the release date from some old news article, because if the guys at Blizzard know Star Wars is set for the same period, they'll either move it up or set it back. No way they're going head-to-head with that behemoth; it's suicide.

@RuGhi: hehehe. Alex's parents are Forrest Gump and Honey Boo Boo's mother, I'm guessing.

^ And that's why siblings should not have kids.

@mink
It could be that that is the date for now. Remember that Star Wars just set their date like a week ago. They could be still exploring new release sections where it would be profitable. I think they are thinking this could be a "Lord of the Rings" to fill the loss that fans of that sword and sorcery series are going to miss since "The Hobbit" will end the previous Christmas. They probably want to try and take that holiday fantasy film momentum. I do get it, but now with Star Wars it is indeed suicide. That's 4-5 generations of fans against the barely 1-2 that make up WOW.

@Mink You might be right about that.

Well you just miss that a massive 7M people that plays WoW and surely will look up the movie! And this is the active players! So if the movie will be made with respect to the lore story i don't see any problem with a date.
