"Thor: The Dark World" - What Did You Think?

"Thor: The Dark World" - What Did You Think?Submit Comment
Marvel's "Thor: The Dark World" is now playing in theaters. If you already had the chance to see it, we want to know what you thought. Write your mini-reviews in the comments section below.

On RottenTomatoes, "Thor: The Dark World" has a 66% fresh rating, with most critics agreeing that the film is more of the same. While it has all the special effects and huge consequences, the sequel is not as good as the first one and even gets boring at times, especially in the first half. Many are wondering whether Marvel should reconsider its strategy of pumping out five movies per year and just focus on the stories more, no matter how long that takes.

"Thor: The Dark World" already earned $7.1 million from midnight showings and another $24 million on Friday. At this pace, the sequel will gross $82 million over the weekend. Although projections placed the film at the $90-$100 million range, that's still much higher than the $65 million the first "Thor" movie grossed. By the end of the weekend, the $170 million sequel should earn over $200 million worldwide.

not as good as the first one??

i never even thought the first was anything special

the boring parts must be the parts where theyre trying to tell the story to these A.D.D. simpletons
or maybe the parts with Zachary Levi in them
he thinks hes some Clooney/Jim Carrey hybrid or somthin

It was a really good typical marvel movie. Could have used some more quiet story-telling scenes to balance the action, especially in the first half when it kinda lost me a bit. Overall, more of the same but worth checking out if you want to see more marvel comic book style action.

It was more Lord of the Rings meets Star Wars (with some Star Trek Next Generation thrown in for good measure) than the first film. More stuff happening. More action.

Same silly plot-devices from previous Marvel outings: stock alien villain, dimensional portals, cosmic-energy-of-the-week ...that sorta thing.

Still, it was fun and never really lagged. Dennings is cute as a button.

Better than the 1st. Dennings needs her own spin-off :)

Who are these many people and where are their opinions? Or are you just putting words into the mouths of strangers again?

The third Thor should be titled "The Dark Continent". Thor gets banished from Asgard and has to fight Loki for food in Ethiopia.

Pretty dead in here.

Saw it earlier, it was okay. Christopher Eccleston is not bad as Malekith but got his ass handed to him way too easily. The best aspects were seeing Idris Elba being more 'normal', seeing way more of Asgard, and the very minimal screen time for Tony Hopkins. It was a borderline cameo this time.

Kat Dennings was very cute in it.

First one was better. Dark elves are pussies compared to what was promised in the build up. Asgard should invest in guns. Final

Wow if the first one is better.then this one must be a bigger pile of sh*te

what a dumb f*cking article. First off, it has a 67% rating and this dumbf*ck is still complaining that it's "boring at times." That's a high f*cking rating you *sshole! Then the writer goes on to suggest that the filmmakers should take longer to write the script. But why the f*ck would they do that when A) the film earned a high critical rating, and B) it make a billion dollars. What piece of sh*t writes this stuff? Quit trying to kick the film in the balls when it doesn't deserve it. This *sshole's just trying to talk sh*t when he doesn't have a leg to stand on. Goddamn this site.

@PLASTIC MAN tired of you little bitches trolling this site all the time but yet you look at it multiple times a day im sure. All the reviews they give are THIER opinions. Their not saying its stupid and so are you if you like it. Doesnt matter how much a movie makes, if it makes 100, 000, 000, 000, 000 dollars that doesnt mean its good. Dumbf*ck

Watched Friday. More entertaining than the first Thor, if you ignore all the plot holes. My biggest problem was the little snipet at the end. Benicio Del Toro as The Collector. Huh?
PLASTIC MAN writes:

Hey Stuntman Bob. You missed my point. My tirade had nothing to do with the movie review. What pissed me off was the lack of thought that went behind the article. If you didn't notice, the writer is obviously trying to get people worked up. But his argument didn't hold water. The script is, apparently, pretty solid. And, according to the box office, people are still paying to see it. So shut your mouth, Stuntbob. Just because I don't post here everyday doesn't mean I don't read the articles...or expect more from the contributing writers. If these asses want to dish out criticism, then they need to take it, too. I like this site, but it's also poorly managed most of the time. Take a look at Rotten tomatoes and you'll see the difference in quality. What's that? You want me to go away to that site? Gladly.

Very good sequel. I enjoyed it more than the first film. It's a lot busier, and the FX and action sequences are well done. It's definitely impressive visually. I just recently marathoned GAME OF THRONES, and was impressed by the episodes Alan Taylor's directed. They were some of the more cinematic of the series. He transitioned well to the big screen with this film. Stellan Skarsgard is a hoot in the film. I gotta disagree with DeaftOne, as i thought Hopkins was in it quite a bit. Other than some bad dialogue and delivery, the "too jokey" Loki, and some cliched movie contrivances, it was a solid film. I thought it was miles better than the lackluster IRON MAN 3. 6/10

Saw it yesterday, I was so surprised and disappointed after reading the good reviews (which mostly focuses on acting)then seeing one of the sh*ttiest movies ever.
