"Chronicle" Writer Finally Explains the Source of Super Powers in Film

"Chronicle" Writer Finally Explains the Source of Super Powers in FilmSubmit Comment
"Chronicle" was one of the biggest surprise hits of last year. Almost everyone involved got a career boost thanks to the movie. And even though a sequel is in the works, the person responsible for the original film, writer Max Landis, is not being brought back.

Because Landis has always envisioned "Chronicle" as a trilogy, and now that he won't be given a chance to tell the full story, he has decided to reveal the one thing fans have been asking about... How did the characters get their powers?

SPOILERS AHEAD:

In the movie, it seemed that a crystal deep underground was responsible for giving the boys their powers. But according to Landis, that crystal is actually a "massive organic geoelectric object," which belongs to "a race of crystalline organisms that communicate and propel themselves through radio waves, and turn higher life forms into telekinetic drones."

Regarding the story of the next two installments he was planning... Landis said that they would focus on "two embittered souls as anti-heroes trying to catch the survivor of the first film."

no news on why Landis isnt being brought back?

although, it sounds like it might not be a shot in the foot after all
after reading that Landis planned for sub-terranean Cocoon aliens

Hopefully David Chase will also explain the ending to the Sopranos, because nothing says fun like ruining the magic and mystery of visual literature.

"that crystal is actually a "massive organic geoelectric object," which belongs to "a race of crystalline organisms that communicate and propel themselves through radio waves, and turn higher life forms into telekinetic drones.""

Or as that wild-haired History Channel guy would say: "aliens".

So the origin all came from a "massive organic geoelectric object," which belongs to "a race of crystalline organisms that communicate and propel themselves through radio waves, and turn higher life forms into telekinetic drones."

Uh-Huh...interesting.

All this to be driven as a trilogy consisting of just "two embittered souls as anti-heroes trying to catch the survivor of the first film."

Maybe THAT'S why the went with a different direction...I'd say it was a good call. Well, more of a safe bet...

based on what i saw in this film...bunch of kids running around the place...filmed in too similar of a way like cloverfield...and as for the source of superpowers yes, crystal looking and also alien looking, whether they're organic or not, someone or something was controlling it...and if it was a something then that can only mean there was a someone behind that something as well...in short 'aliens'...and while it's nice they got a start in hollywood, they'll have to work with other people to stay in it and help others get their start too
